Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a great week and are now ready to transition into the weekend. By reading Monday's posts, it looks like a lot of us were busy last weekend. Let's keep it up!

Saturday: I owe the Domestic Goddess named Angela some time after leaving her as a "Hobby Widow" for the last few weeks. With RC Fest done, I'm hoping to relax a bit. We have Railroad Days this weekend in nearby Monticello and a Car show in LeRoy which is the other direction. So Saturday will probably be a day of cars, motorcycles and trains. In general, probably very little modeling on Saturday.

Sunday: Is our monthly date day to the large Antique show in Bloomington. I'm on the look out for Mid Century Modern items to add to the décor of the office and home. After that we'll come home and I hope to spend the rest of the afternoon with my new Athearn Genesis GP15-1 and getting it set up with the Proto Throttle.
    GP15.jpg

The good thing about the switching module I built is that I now have a dedicated area to set up my locomotives. I've been itching for some time to program my Proto Throttle ever since I picked it up at the St. Louis RPM in July but life has been busy. I'm looking forward in setting this unit up and maybe my BN GP18 as well. We'll see how the time goes and if this luddite can program things accordingly. This is the last thing I need to do before next weekends Cornfield FreeMo event.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 20th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

The future brothr-in-law will build / assemble the last 3 cabinets this evening.
That will lead to the foam going down.

    That might lead to
    Primer coat

It is my intention to video / record as much of the construction process as possible from the measuring and cutting of the foam to positioning and gluing it in place.
    We shall see.

I hope I will be posting pics of primer coated foam on Monday evening or sooner.

I have some outside things to do but they will depend on the weather. Inside there are the shear curtains in the living room and dinning room that must be taken down and washed. We will have to see what else appears on the honey do list.

In the modeling world I would like to finish assembling the Walthers Union Station kit and weather it. Also run some trains.

I'm kinda stuck in place waiting for benchwork paint to dry in the garage. It's been rainy and incredibly humid here, so I can't do much more than wait it out.

Good morning from sunny and warm Northeast Ohio!

Well, tonight is bowling so no modeling being done today, unless I get some free time this afternoon.

Saturday is club in the morning then followed by any chores in the afternoon, in the evening I have a number of cars that I painted that I will start decaling, may also start on another covered hopper kit to build.

Sunday, finish decaling a couple of cars, do the laundry and between loads I have a couple of cars to paint.

All three of the youngest kids test for their next belts in Karate tomorrow morning, so until that's done I won't even get to think about trains. IF it stops raining by then (thanks Hurricane Nicholas) I have a backlog of outside projects to address, including sealing the new polycarbonate panel roof on the pergola that replaced the one broken off last year in Hurricane Zeta. I also need to deliver a new solution for pool toy storage as the current low Rubbermaid shed has now blown over for about the 12th time.

On the plus side I was in the Big Easy earlier this week and stocked up on scratch building supplies at Hub Hobby. So at least I have that going for me.

We’ve got a small typhoon coming this weekend here in Japan, so I’ll be “stuck indoors”…guess I’ll have time to learn how to make my own decals for my diorama and finish weathering some boxcars.

Not sure what I will be doing w/ respect to trains. As w/ many weekends. My 7:00 AM Saturday coffee in the workshop or layout room will tell the tale.

We’ll find out together on Monday what my plans “were”.... as it were.

Have a great and safe weekend all!

I plan to finish the turntable installation, on one of my HOn30 modules. Last weekend cut the hole, painted and mounted the pit. Started assembling the bridge. Next will come the track. Meanwhile, am pondering how I want to weather the turntable scene.

This weekend will be a short one. I will be opening the train room up this weekend and working on some HO projects. It’s crunch time!!!

Impressive results here. As for me, this past week I was able to make covered hopper sides for four cars. I have put reporting marks on one and will do the rest asap. Have a great weekend! :)

We have one of our nephews visiting this weekend so don’t have any modeling plans other than run a few trains on the layout for him. If I do get some free time after his visit I will continue building turnouts.

The unusually dry weather for the past three months has ended. Things are normal for this time of year in Bellingham: drizzling rain and gusty winds. No complaints. As I said, this is "normal." I will be putting off lawn mowing till next week. We will be helping my wife's aunt with her new computer on Sunday. This is my last weekend at the workbench for a few weeks. Let's see what I can accomplish.

UP 2295 Drivers: I have some overlays to work with, however I am going to see if I can minimize the amount of material I need to remove from the drivers before committing. I only have one set of main drivers for each mechanism. I need to get it right or I will be sending Mikado mechanisms to the parts bin. My objectives here are milling a second test driver to a different diameter recess and make some overlays to match. The biggest challenge will be getting my drawings to play nice with the MakerSpace laser engraver.

UP 2295 Sand Domes: My secondary project is waiting should I stall out on the drivers. I have all the parts and tools I need to cut some brass. We will see if I get to it.

UP 2295 Tender Truck Bolsters: Number three on the priority list. If time allows I will do something. Not sure what.

Hope you folks in storm paths are going to be OK. For everyone, hope you get it all done.

    Stay safe,

I only have two goals for this weekend:
    1. Finish wall panels around outside of the layout area.
    2. Extend the main track through the wall corner north of the viaduct.

If those two both get done, then perhaps I’ll continue working on installation of ceiling tiles. Not exciting, but these are things that need to happen before proceeding with benchwork and completing the main line on the lower level.

Update / Change of plans: 'Future-Brother-in-Law' has economic opportunities tonight so looks like:
Tonight: Will clean up existing 2 sections and plan 'modular scenic spaces'. MSS are places where I will be able to easily swap out scenic elements.
I could change a mountain into a city or a farm into a factory.
Saturday: Will try to do a video of the current status. Birthday / Retierment dinner at home. Don't expect much done.
Sunday: Will help build the cabinets, (3 flat packs). Hopefully cut and place foam and maybe paint primer.
Monday: Will look into getting digital video camera and lighting equipment.

Planning to finish up a couple more 190x cars for the Frisco and CRIT. I have parts in and decals from Precision Design and K4 to work the modified Accurail cars.
