Is "a dog's breakfast" related, at all, to "all dressed up like a dog's dinner"?

    :D

The Leadville Railroad, AKA the Leadville, Colorado & Southern, picked up another locomotive to add to their fleet used to pull tourist trains from Leadville up to the continental divide at Freemont Pass. The GP9 is a former Mt. Hood Railroad locomotive. This shot is from the window of a dome car while riding that line in 2009.

Here is a shot of it being transported to its new home in Colorado.

Here is a shot of one of the older Leadville locomotives from the 1990s.

Thank you. Amusingly, NS has a wye adjacent to the BMW plant with the three points of the wye named BAVARIAN, MOTOR and WORKS. A recent siding extension there includes a control point named RPM. It's nice to see that people within NS operations can have some fun in their work.

I think I see two, way over on the left, the same...just kidding :D, you're right and the clouds have at least 50 shades of gray, too.

As far as I know these wide cab equipped GP60s give their crews a terribly rough ride so they quickly were removed from hot shots..

Yes, Leadville, Colorado has been isolated ever since the UP closed the old Denver & Rio Grande Tennessee Pass Route.

Even if TP was still active, the LCS has no rail connection to the TP line. That connection was severed at a grade crossing years ago. Development probably has sprung up on the old ROW, but that's just a guess.

Color seems more alive, as if I am there watching. B&W seems a bit like I am expecting it to be a damp and foggy night.

B & W has that aura of tension, 'what's going to happen next?' to it.

I want to try it in a snowstorm. The snow in the headlights should be the element this image needs.

From Friday, 09/17/21 is the Blue Ridge Southern's yard at Canton, NC where a paper mill is served. Their neat and compact yard looks like a model railroad doesn't it? We're 17 Miles west of Asheville here.

The building with the blue roof trim was built by the SOU and serves as BLU's main office.

These two shots were taken in Canton, NC just over 32 years ago on 07/22/1989 when the annual NRHS National meet was held in Asheville.

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that building was a former Pizza Hut or something.
