Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a great week and are ready for some time with our favorite hobby. Let's get started.

Saturday: I have cleaning on my mind. Having your home office in your work shop/railroad room presents its own challenges. After over a year, I think I have managed to work everything out and so to make all those changes semi-permanent. The N scale shadow box on the opposite wall will have to be set up with new wall brackets and the HO layout that was there is in storage but may end up at the Champaign office. The HO modular layout will go into the common room or studio. If you have ever seen the monthly Athearn New Announcements, that is the where they are recorded. The N scale Galesburg City is still in storage but by next spring, the new construction of it will go into the studio area.

Sunday: More cleaning and organizing as well as some lawn and yard work in prep for cooler temps. If I have time, I would like to fine tune my new Athearn Genesis GP15-1 and GP18 to the Proto-Throttle and maybe play around with some switching on the portable HO layout I built. We'll see but either way, I'm looking forward to a weekend of being home and working on projects.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 11th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

    TGIF Y'all,

Well - I hope to get my F7's ready for paint. I have roof grabs, anti climber grabs, nose ladder grabs, pilot plow coupler lift bars, horns, dual headlight inserts and rear lift lugs to install -- a lot of holes to drill --so, we'll see.

    Report on Monday

    Y'all have a fantastic weekend,
    Wolf

Hopefully I’ll get all the ties painted on my little Nn3 layout. Then some ballasting.

The weekend is supposed be wet with drizzle on Saturday and rain on Sunday. So as a result, I will be doing some moving of the plants and planting new plants today. I am going to also try to trim the azaleas along the front walkway. I need to trim them before I put out the Halloween lights and decorations. For the weekend it will be indoor Halloween decoration and I don’t know what else.

On the layout since the track is temporarily tacked down, I want to run trains and make sure the alignment is good. When I feel it is satisfactory, I will pull the track up and begin laying the foam roadbed.

Good morning from partly cloudy and warm Northeast Ohio! We are supposed to get rain and thunderstorms most of today and thru the weekend.

Friday, hope to finish up the Red Caboose PC&F R70-15 Reefer kit today or tomorrow, but Friday night bowling will slow the progress down, hope for better scores tonight, after a 183-224-210 = 617 Series on Tuesday night.

Saturday, going to the club and will be running an intermodal train with many of the trailers I have done the last few weeks. Will be painting a 50' boxcar and hopefully the R70-15 Reefer while starting to decal a PS4740 Covered Hopper kit I painted last week.

Sunday, continue decaling the covered hopper and start on the boxcar while starting to build another kit to be determined.

With my wife's help, I hope to get my two nearly completed N Scale train tables upstairs for assembly. We'll need to negotiate a dog leg in the staircase, but I think we'll be okay. They'll bolt together for form an "L" shape. There's no track or anything on them, just the tables. I strived for strength and light weight in their design, and am pleased with the result. The 73-1/2" x 37-1/2" table weighs 32 LBS and the 64-1/2" x 37-1/2" table weighs 28 LBS, both weighed without their removable legs.

After assembly I'll need to fill some nail holes and touch up the paint, and work some minor furniture location.

Plans? You want plans?! Good luck with that.
Here is what I am planning will NOT get done:
    • Last of the foam on sections 1 & 2 won't get put down
    • Supports for the bullet train line won't get cut.
    • Nothing will get painted.
    • I won't kitbash any of my olde rolling stock from 30 to 40 years agop
    • I won't print out and build a wrap around deck for my round homes.
Nope, none of that will happen.
There! Are you happy now? Well, are your?

    Good morning all,

It's going to be much cooler than it was last weekend here in Northern California. Outdoor fall projects are in full swing so between pruning and raking up I will fill my pair of 100 gallon yard barrels to put out on Monday. Also continuing work on drip irrigation in the back yard.

In the train room I hope to take down the Carlin bench work and put up the new tempoary turn around loop that I made last weekend. Work has continued on the needed turnouts for Carlin and more wood tie sets are on the way from Fasttracks to finish those.

May you all have a great weekend whatever you end up doing.

This weekend I’d like to work on framing. However we are due for rain so I am not confident I'll be setting up the chop saw out back (outdoors)…. So we’ll see.

Plan B will be either scenery or bridge work.

    Have a great weekend all!!

We are predicted to see a few snow flurries by late weekend. I am hoping to paint another almost finished box car. From there, several directions I can go. I need a many-faced coin to flip and see... Ha ha.

More good progress listed here. I have spent two evenings at my grandson's home due to his mom being out of town. Last two days have been very slow it seems. At this point I have made five pairs of coupler hooks and not much else done. If this sunshine continues being inside will be very challenging. If some progress is made, I will build the railcar truck/coupler assemblies. Everyone have fun and be safe. (y)

Two more decoder installs completed last night.

Saturday I need to pick up four more that I ordered.

It’s gonna start getting expensive. While at the LHS I will be buying a couple of locos if they are in stock and ordering a bunch more. I figured out a way to enjoy running my modern stuff and still get my steam fix using ops. Over three sessions it will g from Steam era to transition eta to modern era. It’s gonna be fun.

I need four steam locos, two sets of F units, two SD9’s, and an RS3. Most of these will be BLi. Others Bachmann or similar of I can find them.

I still need to finish the cart and work on a few other things.

As previously discussed in a thread, try to align some cog's ( not sure of actual name ) on my two Atlas U25B's to get them to work, and oil them with the newly purchased LaBelle's #102 oil. Time to watch some oiling YT videos :) Cog's makes me think of The Jetson's, isn't that what they made in the factory?

Had hoped to work on some scenery this weekend but after a super stressful week at the office combined with not feeling well (not Covid thank goodness), I think I will end up spending the better part of the weekend in bed trying to recoup before Monday manages to roll around. If I do feel better, by Sunday, I may try to run a train or two at least. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Today I helped paint trim and doors at our Habitat for Humanity project house. Then took a nap, and dog sat our daughter's dogs.

Saturday I have to renew my driver's license that expired on my birthday last month (oops). After that, I'll drive an hour and a half to visit my wife in the hospital (if she's feeling up to it), and in the afternoon/evening I'll participate in an Eagle Court of Honor for a young man in our scout troop.

Sunday is church, of course, and then train club.

I don't know if I'll actually get anything done.

Day late and a dollar short…

I worked on layout room clean up and general tidying. I have a guest coming to visit the layout, hoping that it will be the start of assembling a small round-robin group of modelers in my area to regularly get together and work on eqch others layouts.

I an also running to the hardware store this morning before it rains again, hoping to get two sheets of plywood to get the remaining expanse from the current end of track progress to the classification yard in place hopefully sooner than later.

    A little late myself..

I hadn't stepped foot in the train room for a couple weeks due to several trips we had taken, that and the fishing bug has bitten hard. I had lost momentum finishing up my workbench reconfiguration.

Today we went to a huge yardsale at a local church and I picked up a few things for hobby use. This gave me moto to get the train room squared away for the umpteenth time.

So my plan is to put on a good audiobook then get the train room straightened up and vacuumed, the workbench and layout cleared off, extend the arm on a flex arm lamp and figure out where I left off on the layout.

After that I might tie up a few carp and surf fishing rigs.

    It's great to be back.
    Have a great weekend!

Flew home from SeaTac on Friday night, worked 2 hours, went to my son's soccer game at 9, single dad stuff the rest of the day, worked all night, drank a tall IPA, pondering sleep....my weekend is Wed-Fri
