Not a lot accomplished this weekend what with bowling Friday Night, then running the Sweetest Day Tournament for the Senior Women in the Association on Saturday Afternoon.

Saturday Evening I started to decal the R70-15 Reefer and did some work on a couple of other cars.

Sunday Afternoon, while doing the laundry I managed to paint an Airslide Covered Hopper and a regular Hopper car, spent the evening watching a couple of movies.

Greetings. Took my first stab at casting a tall bridge pier. Was going to try and print them but really wanted the look/feel of concrete. I cast 2 using canvas foam board from Hobby Lobby. Here’s a shot of the first one.

    Hi Everyone,

Had a great weekend and got done what I was planning on the layout. Got the river cut into the shorter of the pair of Carlin sections.

Here is the bottom with everything sealed with leftover household paint. I was concerned about how thin the material that was left in the frame was but with the completed river structure being a box, the frame is stronger than ever.

Spent the rest of the weekend refining track layout on both sections.

Accomplished more than I expected to this weekend. The main track between the lower staging yard and the full length of the lower level is completed. Also ran a test train on DC, which also went well.

Sunday morning, I tried my new soldering station and built a new #8 turnout on my template. This is 10 times better than the old pencil type iron I had used before.

I received most of the items I had on order . Still have 5 more locos to go. Hopefully soon.

Installed two decoders and working on a third.

Have a clinic on Saturday. Went well.

Now hopefully I can finish the decoders and get back to working on the railroad.

After getting the train table set up and rolled about on its casters, I found that the fascia would bump the top of a cheap bookshelf underneath. I suffered some minor fascia damage [ ], so I unloaded the shelf, carried it into the driveway with my wife's help and gave it a haircut of 3/8" to be certain all would be well. Everything is back in place, damage is fixed and clearance is perfect.

Now building a shopping list of miscellaneous electrical items for the railroad. When I was young, multiple trips to Radio Shack would fill needs as they arose. Modern Internet purchasing requires clairvoyance and overbuying.

I got the outside Halloween decorations done before the rain the hit. Saturday my wife and I had an adventure getting gas for her car. We usually go to Delaware to get gas since it is 20 to 40 cents cheaper than Pennsylvania. Normally the drive takes about 30 to 35 minutes. Saturday with the insane amount of traffic it took us an hour. Coming home we bushwhacked and went many miles out of way but there was no traffic. We would rather drive further if it means we are moving and not stuck in stop and go traffic. Sunday we ran a few errands.

I got to run trains this weekend. I tested my new Broadway Limited PRR I1sa 2-10-0 loco. It was able to pull 30 cars with only a slight decrease in speed. I was very impressed. I changed out the plastic couplers on a coupler of Walthers passenger cars. I started subjecting the 30 cars from the I1sa train to inspections and tuning up as needed. I then went back and started to rework my computer database to help keep track of which cars and done and what work is needed on the unfinished cars.

Finished the diorama; my kids provided guidance on placement of the snowball fight pieces and trees. Started putting the MTL DODX flats w/containers together. [IMG]

    Nothing done model wise.

I did finish the flex arm extension on my LED Frankenlamp. It's not pretty but works well. Half of it is black the other half avocado green.

I managed to stain about half the lumber for the border around the future raised bed garden.

I did get my workbench cleaned off and organized. The cleaned off part only lasted a few minutes. I started tying fishing rigs and made a mess again. I now have about a years worth of rigs tied for the types of fresh and salt water fishing I do. I really wanted to get that done prior to resuming work on the layout.

This morning I cleaned up a little more in the train room. This coming weekend I should resume work on the layout.

Did not get any modeling done. Spent Saturday taking a door layout to a train show. So got to run a train. Sure is fun to attend shows.

Did 4 videos of local MBTA comuter rail, took photos of details of the Roslindale Village Station and made mental plans of how to model it.
Printed to cardstock and then cut out a couple of small practice buildings which I can put in the background and hide the 'issues'.
Finished my thoughts on how Wescott's Plan #4 would fit into my space.
Glued down one piece of foam and organized my throughts, (I hope), for the rest.
Worked on thoughts for moving the layout when the time comes.
WOW - Didn't realize I did so much.

I'll spare you the videos but if you are interested please leave a message.

    I feel like I didn't do anything.

Mr. Bremner, please don't worry. We all have to deal with stuff sometimes. I continue to be impressed here. Par excele`ant stuff. (disregard my french.) As of today, covered hopper main roofs have end gable parts installed. Next will be attaching to the sub-roof and then more roof details, hopefully. :)

Well, I wanted to, but all kinds of small chores and events ate away the hours. I did walk past my work bench a few times. But I suppose that doesn't count? :)
