i dont think i could get one working in the n scale but maybe in the ho scale. ill work on a ho scale to see if i can get one working. i can print you one no problem and send it to you no charge . so you can play with it. the original one is HO scale. i just scaled it down 55%. let me work on a few prints to get them just right. pm me ur addy and let me work on them prints to perfect them. ill try both HO and some at 55% . the one i printed got messed up on first print.

Built with scrap bin parts, sheet styrene, Evergreen shapes and a bit of a wing and a prayer.

This gives an idea of some pieces parts:

Built a shed. It’s going to go in the back yard of one of the houses on my modules.

been printing pump jacks . i think im getting them printed lots better now. the gray an beige one works (at least by a tooth pick ) dont have any motors that would fit. im printing a few more different sizes . try to get them perfected. my printer bed has not been playing nice. i had to crank up the extruder heat to get them to stick better. the grey one is printed at 75% and the black one is 55% . Ive read that pump jacks are a lot of different sizes really big one s to really small ones.

    Those came out nice(y).

I print small parts and others that don't have much contact on a .....

.... raft. Did that with the pump jack parts above. I did those at 60% and was really surprised how well the Ender 3 Pro filament printer did on the gears. I haven't tired but they might be usable. I didn't print the rest of the pump jack as I felt that for where I might want to use it that it is still a little large. From your picture it looks like it might be a couple inches long, 26 feet in N scale. Not unrealistic as you mentioned they come in different sizes.

We have oil/gas wells in one area here and yes they are all different sizes. The smallest, where I heard originally they struck oil at about 35 feet, are toy like at about 6-7 feet long and most of those aren't working or have been removed since I moved here. Then there are large ones that would be in the 20+ foot range I believe. Probably depends on the well depth and how much sucker rod they are lifting and the pump stroke they want.

I've seen a video of an N scale working if I remember right? Maybe on Fifer's layout? I don't think I'd try gears and a motor in N scale in the pump jack but move those or another way to control it under the layout. Probably a simple crank shaft with a throw on it. Pretty easy to 3D print something like that for a small slow speed motor.

Keep us informed with how you use those,

sumner i printed two more out one at 50% printed at 200 nozzle an bed at 50 nozzle size is #4 . the other one at 75% same temps im using hatch box filament. i like that filament. its pretty consistent but is temp sensitive.
these are for a fellow here on the forums. one for testing and the smaller one for n scale . maybe he can get motors on them and we can see the final working pump. Now i just need a box to ship them in . i finally got the printed sorted out.
i did get the one with the pinkish beam working with a tooth pick turning the gears.
im probaly not going to use the bigger one. i just wanted to see it printed and put together. the smaller one i have a spot on my layout where im going to put it along with an oil tank. im finding my printer likes a hot room or at least pretty warm.

    3. Modifying part of the layout to better accommodate the aforementioned trestle and to extend an area to accommodate more trees (Moose loves trees!):

The loksound nano decoders finally made it in so getting to work with those. This particular loco is a fleischmann BR52 which has the least amount of room. The decoder and speaker both have to fit in the cab and coal bunker area and arranged in such a way that there is no rubbing on the exposed flywheel. I think I got it figured out but have to wait for the speaker to finish drying before I can do a final test fit.

Bought a couple of six-inch PVC connectors at Lowes. These will become large oil storage tanks approximately 85-feet wide and 80-feet high in N scale. Got the inspiration for this while passing an oil facility on one of my travels. These tanks will tower over my fleet of MT Texaco tank cars and will justify the number of tank cars at the facility which is the effect I am after.

You are correct, I need to pay attention to what I type:oops:

It's all done. I should have taken a pic pre shell install with the speaker enclosure in place. It's a tight fit and now with it all together and working I really don't want to take it apart again unless absolutely necessary.

Looking at the pic below if you squint just right you can see the speaker enclosure pressed up against the front of the cab. About 2mm behind it is the flywheel which is that bronze looking item viewable in the non-glazed cab opening. The separation is maintained by the decoder board in the top of the cab which extends all the way to the rear of the fuel bunker. I used a piece of dual sided stick foam so there was no solid contact between the board and speaker as well as keep the speaker tight against the forward bulkhead to minimize buzzing from a floppy enclosure. Speaker itself is facing the rear to allow cooling rather than against the bulkhead where experience has taught me inadequate cooling leads to bad speakers real quick.

Before the install there was daylight all through the cab except for that flywheel so space in the loco was a premium without trimming out the weight in the boiler to put things in there.

The other thing I did which I believe I posted about a month or so back was to do dual red-white illumination so the lamps change over to red for EOT/pusher operations.

Sounds great though and super pleased with the performance. This was my first Euro I ever purchased almost 2 decades ago. Shortly after I converted to DCC so been a long time since I ran it.
