The Rio Grande had outfitted their locomotives with fake "diamond" smoke stacks to play into what the tourist thought an old time steamer should look like. Neat shot of the Skokie Swift, which operated on former North Shore right of way under wire. This was one of the last CTA lines with catenary. It's since been removed in favor of third rail.
