Thanks Rich, and as they say in n-scale, "why that's just plain HOoversized!"

Do you mean something similar to the Red Caboose 42 ft Fishbelly flat cars?

It seemed as if folks reckon that anything Red Caboose is made of gold nowadays.

    @Tad
Yes, perhaps not "holy grail" worthy since there have been some made and are still available. Moose has a pair of the Red Caboose flatcars for N.P. actually. Yes, expensive and hard to find...

That Atlas CNJ caboose isn't prototypical that I know of, which is why I never picked one up.

Yes, true. Atlas did a nice job on the paint though and I like its look. Whatever trucks are used, Life Like's sits too high and resists any attempt to lower it.

The Bachmann model looks okay in factory photos. I first need to see one.

I would like a Union Pacific 4-12-2 with sound. All of the largest UP locomotives such as the Big Boy, Challenger, DD40AX, GTEL 8500, and U50 have already been done, need the 4-12-2 to complete the set of largest UP locomotives. BLI did one in HO, maybe some day they will do one in N.

I don’t think this one is too bad. Do you?

Broadway Limited has the license to produce the Big Boys now. Pre-orders are being taken.

Well, this isn't the Holy Grail, because it's a pre-diesel, but I've never understood the reluctance of manufacturers to produce the C&O 2-10-4 that was also built for the PRR during WW2. It was probably the PRR's only successful modern pre-diesel.

    check out Royale Models.

    https://www.royalemodels.com/

There have been a couple builds of John’s trucks here on the forums. He does a really good job, and I do believe there are some Day cabs in his collection.

I echo Allegheny’s and C&O Mountainman’s posts: the C&O 2-10-4 T-1 Texan. We can only hope BLI will come through.

Modern 4-6-0 (Bachmann, what were you thinking producing that horror?!!)

Baldwin AS 616 (A and B unit please)

Southern Pacific 4-8-2 with skyline casing
    Southern Pacific AC-4 cab forward
    Southern Pacific AC-9 cab backwards
Southern Pacific AC-12 cab forward that runs faster than 40smph (prototype could run 80+ but would hammer the rails when they did - Never thought I would complain that an N scale engine ran too slow)

40' flat cars (tired of taking Atlas 50' and making them 40's)
40' reversed braced 4 panel box car (SP Class B-50-15 in wood and/or steel side) SP had a bunch of these cars and used some for the original Overnight boxcars...oh, and decals for the original overnight paint)
