The newest version of the DCC++EX Command Station (nicknamed CommandStation-EX) is available on the website today. There are significant additions and changes as this is a MAJOR release from 3.x to 4.0. Rather than clutter a message with all the details, I'll mention the EX-RAIL automation and accessory control, the JMRI and Engine Driver custom features like "DriveAway", route synchronization, and "HAL", a hardware abstraction layer that creates a universal driver for servo boards, port extenders, and other I2C devices. Adding devices now just requires creating a definition that ties into HAL. No need to have to get into the CS code for anything. Attached is the press release in PDF format. As usual, check out the website and find us on Discord and here for more information. https://dcc-ex.com

Is version 4.0 compatible with Uno, or a Mega is absolutely required?

see this link for a listing of compatible boards:
    https://dcc-ex.com/reference/hardware/microcontroller-boards.html

The additional memory on the Mega is needed for EXRAIL automation, accessory controller functionality and/or WiFi.

DCC++EX 4.0 will compile/upload on Uno or Nano, where you will have the DCC++EX command station with improved efficiency when reading CVs, along with the ability to fine-tune for problematic decoders.
