I'm doing a B&O 2-8-2 Q4B. I'm needing the loco designignation for the cab. Does anyone make these?? The Microscale B&O sheet in HO does not have Q4b. Thanks, and it's yellow too. Thanks, Steve
Do you have the Microscale sheet on hand? On the Microscale website, the resolution isn't high enough to make it out, but it looks like there is a 'Q1a' or 'Q1b' on the bottom right. You might have to splice the numbers from multiple decals. Do any other class decals have a 'b' subclass? If so, you can take the 'b' from it, the 'Q' from Q1, and the 4 from another class. if you had to, you could use a tender capacity number, they look like they are almost the same size.

Microscale used to make 3 B&O sheets: small, medium and large locos with the relevant classes for each on it. The current offering is a condensed version without all the cab class designations. Seems like a poor choice by Microscale, especially given B&O had more Q4bs than anything else. If you can find some of the older sheets it'll be on one of those. The old champ decals might have one if you can source them. If all else fails cut and shut as advised previously. I've done it for B&O caboose classes from a Microscale sheet.
