From about 1975 at Rondout, IL, some aging MILW equipment in MofW service. The X1058 would make an outstanding model, end door, vertical brakewheel and all.

Do you remember if it was painted oxide red? Or possibly gray?

Gray cars were usually assigned to their steel gangs.

07/03/1984, again at Rondout, IL. Moved to Kodachrome by then. :) Unprototypical overspray on those trucks.

I remember seeing those old wooden boxcars pressed into MoW service here in Austin in the sixties. I'm trying to remember if they were oxide, gray, or both.

These things are much more manageable in model form. They are bigger than you think.

From a bitter cold 12/21/1976 at Barrington, IL. The C&NW had suffered a derailment and was detouring trains over the EJ&E. I think the J lent an extra hand by ferrying trainmen on their speeder.

Nice, really makes the unit stand out.

My old Canon had a setting that you'd focus on a color, and it would only show that-everything else was b&w.

    Looks good! :)

If I were the artsy type (with the little round glasses and a goatee), I'd say that it represents the daily drab of everyday life that always has a bright, colored high point represented by the locomotive.

Basically, trains will brighten up anyone's day!
