My local hobby shop buy's train's and other collections from people I am sure pennies on the dollar. But I always check out that area when I go there. How I got two Atlas #6 Remote Switches for $5.00 each, and they where brand new ( but old numbers ) and work just as well as the current version one I just bought for around $20.00. Also bought a Model Power assembled house for $1.00 once, and New it retails for about $20.00. The have an isle of items that were on someone's layout and some are great prices. However the majority of their N Scale Kato, Atlas, etc... and other locomotives are ridiculous. I always check the prices on the internet when I am in there.

Great buy on the .50 cent structure!

My EX-Wife used to call me "Thrifty" I just go with CHEAP! I have worked too hard for my money. Why spend a dollar, if spending a dime will do? This is one of the main reasons I like Train Show/Sales/Swap meets. Especially if the Show is organized by the NMRA and/or Model Railroaders, not some Commercial outfit, who is looking to make macho dinero from Attendees and Sellers.
