Update on the dying LED strips problems.

I removed a 2nd strip where half the LED's died and replaced it with a new strip. The old ones were around 32500 degrees kelvin, the new ones are around 4000 deg. K which looks better (and brighter).
The last existing strip cover the far end of the layout and most of those are still good. I also put a adjustable PS in and adjusted the voltage down to 11 vdc. Hopefully this won't repeat the previous problems with those apparent cheap strips with little QC.

Note the comparison between with and without the lighting and the two strips (old on bottom, new on top).

Good discussion on LED Layout lighting. Good ideas. I am not a fan of adhesive strips, they always seem to wear out and fail. Caulk, HMMMM, but I prefer mechanical holders. On FeeBay type in LED LIGHT STRIP CHANNELS and LED LIGHT STRIP HOLDERS or BRACKETS and see the results. There are plastic [PVC] and metal channels for holding/protecting LED strips. There a just brackets for holding the LED strip alone, without a channel. All different types. Just type what you think you might want into the FeeBay search.

The 1st failed strips were caulked. They held fine.
These I used the adhesive which seemed 'sticky' enough, at least to me. The other plus was the 'flex' strips where very flexible. Given the soft feel to them and the 'stickiness' of the adhesive, that show be ok if the LED's don't fail again.

ive had led light strips under my kitchen cabinets for 2 years now . they seem to be holding up just fine . there held in place with just the sticky stuff that was on them, (this was new cabinet install so everything was clean) the ones on my layout are 1 year old +a few months there still working great.
