5511 was just donated to Railroading Heritage of Midwest America along with the Challenger. I don't think I have ever paid much attention to this locomotive, and when the donation subject came up on another post a few days ago, nobody said anything about this one. I think we are all focused on the challenger and the passenger cars.

I don't think 5511 was ever restored or run on a heritage excursion. It would be cool to see this locomotive get some attention. I wonder what else is in the depths of the Cheyenne roundhouse that hasn't come out in years.

Is that the Budd Lo-Pac 2000 well car in the second photo? If so, this is an extremely rare shot. Are there any subsequent photos in your collection showing the car close-up?

I wonder if the large crowd was gathered to catch that car, or they simply got lucky. If they were smart, they'd get a better photo of it. Who cares about the locomotives in this case?
