From the address of the house in the famous short film, The Music Box, comes my tribute to that wonderful film. My stairs can't be as high as the staircase at 1127 Walnut Avenue, but 30 steps will have to do. Here it is just placed so you can get an idea of what will be filling this space.

Maybe I can get it higher. More stairs are better.

I may need an elevator. Will there be one? I'm not familiar with the film.

Are you using Pikestuff steps or something different?

Pikestuff. I've decided to add another landing and another 15 steps.

And a beautiful job on the house, too!

Oh wow!! I couldn't do those anymore. Life is catching up. I hope you can get close to that as space allows.

I do remember the scene with them going down those stairs. It was on a late night show after I got out of the army, etc..
I couldn't go to a lot of the parties in Milwaukee. I'm allergic to weed. Ended in the emergency ward the first time.

    Thanks!

I will build the stairway first. I found an important part that I need. The concrete sides of the stairs. Evergreen no. 371 Polystyrene strips. They are on the way. This will not be an easy build for me. I hate making stairs. However, the concrete stairs look easier than wooden stairs. I will do my best. What is a good concrete color for aged stairs?

After watching the difficulty moving the heavy piano up staircase, I thought for sure that at the end of the movie, they'd by chance find that another road would have taken them right up to the house's rear doorstep. :)

The movie is a "SHORT". It's only about 30 minutes. You missed a very funny part, relating to your first comment.

No elevator please. No fun in that! The movie can be watched on youtube. I'd post the link but I don't think it would be allowed. Anyway, it's called a, Short. The movie is only about 30 minutes long. It's the most loved SHORT they ever did. So just put in, The Music Box. Laural and Hardy.

Ah, I'll take another look. When watching comedy, I have an unfortunate tendency to write the script in my head. Most of what I think of appears at some point and it takes away from the entertainment value. Except in the case of Airplane and Blazing Saddles, which are brilliantly written and my all time favorites.

Can anyone let us know where to see this short film "The Music Box" or originally known as "Hats Off". Now I know were to buy it.
Being 30 minutes I will also need to know how to watch all of it with Windows 10 which doesn't allow videos longer than about 4 minutes.
I do really enjoy chatting with Ms. Street but not remembering all of the shorty from the past is a little bit of a tease.
    Please :coffee:

I agree with your love of Airplane, however,....

Fifty years ago, my wife and I were reviewing scripts for our community theater's next production year. Flight Into Danger, a chilling suspense thriller, was one of the scripts submitted. A few nights after reading Flight Into Danger's script, we watched Airplane. Almost immediately, we realized Airplane's script had been taken almost word-for-word from Flight Into Danger. We rejected Flight Into Danger due to the popularity of Airplane at the time. Though it was amazing to see how the same script lines, with different casting and directing, can turn a mediocre suspense thriller into a hilarious slapstick comedy. Thanks for the memory.
