Happy weekend everyone! Will be heading out with the boy scouts Saturday morning to put out flags at a cemetery. A great way to pay tribute to those who served and gave all for our freedom. After that, try and get all the errands done so that Sunday can be a normal day with some time for the layout. Monday will be some projects for the wife and probably some cooking on the grill. Lunch will be about 2pm :D

Moose also wish all good fortune to those dealing with some dag'gum serious medical issues and thank those who have and/or are serving to protect freedom everywhere...

    Moose weekend modeling plans? o_O

    Here goes... :cautious:

Friday: Morning filled with shopping for groceries to make weird Scottish recipes which happily had da Mooses picking up bottles of Sherry, Brandy and Vermouth -- for said recipes. Then home for hobby day afternoon with Mrs Moose, so hoping to get some roof shingles made for one or both of the town depots.
Saturday: If it ever stops raining here in the Pacific Northwest, then da Mooses will be hard at work in the yard. Lots to do! Then make one of those weird Scottish dinners. Yumm! :)
Sunday: Yard work yard work yard work, then hopefully continue shingles or other scratch-building endeavors.

Have a great Memorial weekend everyone!

My only plan is to get SOME work done on the layout and one of my NTRAK modules. Since I retired I no longer set "plans" in place. I do whatever my head tells me at any given moment. High on my list is to complete the wye that ties the mainline to the yard. I also have a bunch of groundthrows to mount (those are "smalls" only taking 4 or 5 minutes each) so I might do a few or I might do them all. A biggy that I've been putting off is to run the bus line around the layout.......not looking forward to the "under the layout" task I need some lumber so that's probably it for the layout. But I have 4 locos I need to put decoders in and one I need to decal. Ask me at the end of the weekend what I got done.

I may not get much accomplished on the models. But, do plan to go up home to put flowers on several graves. My parents, relatives, friends and grand father I was close to. And ask Reverend William (GranPa) for guidance.

I will fire up the grill and make some ribs, head to the store and buy some paints, and work on all the UP hoppers I’ve slowly been chipping away on over the last month between work and being sick.

More importantly-27 May marks 16 years in the Army on active duty. My wife did 14 years on active duty and is now is the Army Reserve. So I’m going to spend time with my family and be grateful for what I have. And I’m going to take some time and think about the classmates, friends, and other soldiers who were taken from us too soon in combat and here at home.

My mission for the weekend is to fine tune the 20 turnouts on my FreemoN modules and maybe even pull up some track and re-align. Once that is done I plan to repaint the module sides, then add labels and throttle holder locations that hang below the scenery edge.

Thinking of all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom and our US Constitution.

Got the diorama back out again. Not only plan on working on it this weekend, but over time. I hope I can at least try and paint the Smooth It roads, parking lots, curbs, etc... this coming week? Sure which I would have at least put some 1" foam on it to start, oh well! BTW, anyone know where to buy N Scale mulch? I think I am gonna just use ballast as small rocks in the bed areas in front of the Walthers Modern Gas Station? Use what I have for now while leaning!

Thanks for everyone's service in the military! Of course as others grill burgers and hot dogs, and sausages Monday afternoon/night!

I'm back from vacation and plan to do nothing this weekend.
I believe I will be able to achieve this goal.
