That passenger car looks like it should not have escaped fate, in a trash can.

I used to have a set of those cars and they all did the same warping. Threw them away years ago.

Most of mine did as well; a strange thing to have happened. I kept mine for annual use on our Christmas tree railroad.

Been so long that I cannot recall... What kind of chassis did they have? Metal by chance? If so, perhaps zinc pest caused the distortion?

Actually it was the plastic that warped over time.

OK, so I need a Concor turbine tender for my Concor turbine (I had one that I detailed and custom painted UP years ago and sold and I'm regretting that now). Concor started advertising that they were coming out with an updated chassis that was DCC compatible over 15 years ago (which is why I sold the one I had), but I've finally given up on anything coming from Concor and bought an engine that I have started again detailing, but I need a tender. I know that they are rather rare and I'm willing to pay something REASONABLE (I'm willing, due to desperation, to pay up to $50 for a non powered, oversized, incorrect tender that is only good for one engine), but all I seem to find is things like this:

Scaletrains makes a couple styles ready to go for the UP GTEL. Prices depending on which one you want will be at $50 for the cylindrical or $37 for the other style.

Thanks, that might just work (more research is necessary). But if I can get a Scaletrains tender with much better handrails and general detail for much less than the Concor...it will make the handrails on the Concor look that much worse (I'm planning on replacing those anyways). Once again, thanks.

The 24C tender is sold with the scale trains "big blow" turbine if that helps. The detailing is exceptional. I recently picked up a set of their "pre-2006 excursion" tenders and very pleased with them. All of them come with dcc controlled lighting boards so even more value there if you like that functionality. They are also re-releasing the entire big blow set in August. A bit pricey but the detail is top notch and RTR with DCC and sound.

Turbine 61 used all 3 tender types as a sort of test loco. Thos Lee's book "Turbines Westward" has quite a lot of information. Another book , also great, is "Union Pacific's Turbine Era" by A.J. Wolff.
I bought Kato twin pack of Water tenders for the Excursion train so I have a fuel tender for the turbine now. The Kato tender makes the Con Cor look pretty average. The Con Cor tender may be just a bit chunky on handrails and things, they were made of the rear half of two 9000 class 4-12-2 tenders welded together so they were BIG !

If you could scratch build a frame and com up with some trucks, it looks like Con Cor actually still has some of the shells.

Not really humor, and not N Scale either. The widow of City Classics founder Jim Sacco is selling his City Classics display layout. :(

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/334457829131

I think it's going to be a tough sell at $4800 plus pickup costs (it's near Pittsburgh). Although this is nicely, done, most people want to build their own layouts.

I would agree. That is a really steep price, regardless of any special origin.

I was actually looking for something else and came across some trucks on Shapeways, so all you would need is to scratch build the frame, which looks pretty basic.

Checked out that City Classics layout and I'm far from any expert on this stuff seem like a lot of money for this layout that looks fairly basic to me but like I said I'm not a expert.

As usual, the decimal point needs a shift left. But even then, $4.99 is too much.
