    It all works!
ran the Platz KIHA 40 diesel rail car over every section and no problems except one ot the isolating section in one of the station platforms won't switch off

I can either live with it or sort it

Now, can't find the GMC 6x6 trucks, they are in the workcshop racking somewhere. Did find the Datsun 240Z I got off Laszlo though

I actually had to blow the picture up to notice they were paper. Do you have kits close or you gonna scratch build them?

    Hi Joe.
Sorry for the delay. These were downloads off the internet then printed out. There is a big thread on JNS forum with links to different sites

This one started out as an N scale one which I shrunk down in photoshop to 1/220. A small japanese bar

Concentrating on getting Hakuho ready for this weekend's show.

Well Kev I think they look good and yet another creative solution to a lack of available product. Hope the show is a blast!

Brooklyn's first stay away Model show..

Leyland show was to be our Brooklyn's first ever,stop-over, two day model railroad show, staying in a hotel and doing two full days in front of the public

The night before I stood in the workshop, doing a reality check on whether I had put everything in the car when I noticed the 'Bolt Box' still on the bench. That was a close call!!

Concentrating very hard as he learns how to operate it

    Who, Me?

Anyway it all ran very well except we both kept making mistakes as we have a new Gaugemaster DC controller and kept switching it the wrong way

After we shut the show on Saturday he was able to tick off another job on his bucket list. He has wanted to see the plinthed Centurion tank on the outskirts of Leyland where they were built. these were some of the best AFVs ever buit in the U.K and served in many conflicts but really came to promince in the Yom Kippur war where the Isrerali army used them to their maximum potential ( If you get ever get a chance see the TV Mini series 'Valley of tears' try it)

    Happy boy

    even happier!

So we played with the tank, went to see the Class 86 electric returning the Setle to Carlisle excursion going through Leyland. He failed a 'twenty Nugget' challenge from MacDonalds (serves him right) and we finished the night sat outside the Hotel where a young , eight year old Syrian refugee,, who has not seen another child since arriving in England played Soccer with him for over an hour before it was time to go to our room. The little lad spoke no English and Brooklyn speaks no Arabic but it warmed my heart to see two little boys crossing over all the cultural divides and making friends

At short notice we are doing Carnforth Model railway show this weekend. Two layouts look as if they are not going to make it and the organisers asked if we could take Hakuho as a substitute. As it was all still boxed up from Leyland it was not a problem.

Carnforth station, where the show is beiing held is a really famous site of Railway heritage

    https://carnforthstation.co.uk/

Only the Furness line platforms are still in use

The adjoining Carnforth MPD was the former site of the British 'Steamtown' but is now closed to the public and is the base for West Coast railways main line steam operations

Now officially part of the crew!

layout ran well apart from one switch where some locos split the blades at random times. I'll have a look this week as we have a nice gap before the layout next appears at Hartlepool. Best running trains were the Rokuhan DD51s and electrics. The worst one was the Rokuhan DE 10 which needs a serious looking at before it next appears in public. I'm encouraged to get the rear of the layout scenically finished now ( I have a magazine waiting for the article) and I think the Interurban shed is going to go and a full Steam loco depot will replace. More soon

Hartlepool. An infamous port town in the Northeast of England. Infamous, because back in the days when England and France seemed always to be at war a monkey came off a ship when it berthed in the dock. The good folk of Hartlepool, having never seen a Frenchman before assumed it was just that and put it on trial, found it guilty and hung it!

The good folk of Hartlepool still describe themselves as 'Monker hangers' to this day

Good show, lots of good trade stands but perhaps too many 0 scale layouts ruuning DCC sound Heljan Diesel locos back and forth.

The layout ran really well but the Rokuhan DE10, which had not behaved at all well at Leyland was even worse at this show. Stuttering and stopping it looks as it it is a pick-up probelm as the headlights are a big clue. However.....Put in the sawmill siding I use as a "sin-bin" it appears that that section is not isolating when the switch is up resulting in it escaping and chasing a container train down the track

The C11 2-6-4T has really settled down now and ran perfectly on the mixed local. Behind it the Platz Kiha 40 turned out to be the star turn of the weekend. It's ability to crawl to a halt and stop at the station and then gently accelarate away from a standstill impressed the other exhibitors

Can’t put a price on tine like that Kev! My three sons have all grown up my youngest is 17. He doesn’t do much model trains anymore but he still goes to the museum with me and we hop all over the trains. Good stuff!

This is a very nice layout. And one of the things I really do like about it is all the extra landscape towards the front and the sides - you did well to add these extension boards. Well done!

    Kev,
Layout looks great! I like the scene divide.
You are fortunate to get the time with Brooklyn and share a hobby.
