Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend. It looks like we had a busy weekend in the workshop and layout rooms, let's keep that theme going.

Friday: I have today off so my weekend starts today. I'll be spending my morning researching upper valances as that is what I want to work on this weekend. With the walls of the layout done, I want to start with the valance and brackets then start building modules. This will require a trip to the lumbar store later.

Saturday: If I have a solid plan in place and I have my material, I plan to work on the valance project.

Sunday: No real plans as of yet, it will depend on how far I get with the valance project, but ideally, I hope to have lighting and fascia installed by this time. Time will tell. Of course, other domestic duties will be performed throughout the weekend so we shall see.

How about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll reassemble again on Monday the 8th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Good mornin to Y'all, -- Happy Friday

My weekend starts today as well.

This afternoon, I am heading over to a friends house for a shake down of his layout. To find any bugs -- prior to his official ops session in mid September.

As for the rest of the weekend: I will be decaling beet gons (15 of 'em)

    Y'all have a great weekend,
    Wolf

    Good morning all,

On my agenda for the layout this weekend will be to get a finish coat of paint on the fascia in the new area, get that last LED lighting panel finished, and start the ballast on the connecting tracks between the two new sections. I know that was a goal last weekend but I never to it so maybe this time.

Everyone stay safe and enjoy you weekend.

I started arranging the room yesterday. Four trips to the warehouse storage and then nine hours of sleep. Up and going again today for what I can.

Good morning from sunny, hot and humid Northeast Ohio! Just got back from Cardiac Rehab this morning, everything is going well with that, they upped the minutes and difficulty on each machine today.

Friday: Waiting for the mail, should be getting my Bowser NKP RS-3's today, will have to change out the McJunky Couplers with Kadee's before trying them out at the club tomorrow. Continue work on some car kits and do some painting.

Saturday: Go to the Club and run my new RS-3's will start decaling a couple of cars in the evening.

Sunday: Laundry along with painting and decaling.

    Everybody have a good weekend.

I may be working this weekend. Depends upon my neck and level of pain. So I have not tried to make any plans. :(

Work around the house will depend on the weather. If it goes as predicated with a lot of rain the outside items such as moving plants around in the window boxes an doing a bunch of weeding will be postponed. We do have some inside things to do such as some heavy cleaning and the never ending laundry. A gas run should happen at some point along with probably a pharmacy and grocery store trips.

If I have time I want to finish cleaning and tuning up the first Athearn RTR loco. I then need to start on the second one. It too is soaked with oil and needs a good cleaning. I also have many cars to tune up.

Good plans listed above. (y) @dti406, pls ease off the hot, humid stuff. Enough is enough. @BoxcabE50, we all hate nagging pain. I hope you find a quick relief. My projects have become two. The '39 Olds was just creeping along so there is now a two small (shotgun style) houses in the works. The diagram for one is almost done. The other is a little different style and is awaiting diagramming. I did a wood carving "mold master" for the Olds and realized that I needed a more forgiving medium. Modeling clay is awaiting sculpting. ;) Have a fun, cool as possible weekend. :D

Most weekends I’ve had three mornings for layout work, but that won’t happen this weekend. I ended up working overtime today (Friday) and my son and I have a scout camping trip Saturday and Sunday, so this weekend will mostly be a bust.

I may have a couple hours Saturday morning for backdrop work, that should be about it.

This weekend starts my vacation. I will be heading to St Louis, MO for the NMRA convention. A full week of model railroad activities awaits. See you all there who ever will be attending.

I'm pulling out my on-and-off project for an Arduino controlled DC throttle, work on it a little to get the thing going.

This week, my third week of vacation (to recover from the first two weeks  ), I prepared the case by installing the connectors on the rear panel and the controls on the front:

    IMGP4399A.JPG

The square hole is for the Arduino's USB port so I can update the embedded program without opening the box.

I also did the inter-board wiring:

    IMGP4400A.JPG

Yep, that's all there is: an Arduino Uno, a Proto Shield, and a Motor Driver.

This weekend, I'll put my nose back into the sketch file (to see what's left to do) and put the whole thing (outside the box) on an oscilloscope to test the principle. It's going to be pretty hot this weekend so it will keep me busy until I head back to work on Monday.

Basically, I'm using the Arduino to read the voltage on the potentiometers (throttles) and use that to manage the PWM outputs that go to the Motor Driver. The direction switches go to the polarity bits on the Motor Driver.

Once I'm satisfied that what I'm seeing on the 'scope is what I expected, I'll select a guinea pig engine to test it under real conditions. I have a couple of low-end Bachmann GP40s with the single-truck drive that would be ideal for a test.

As long as nothing lets the smoke out, I'll be happy.:D

This weekend's schedule doesn't leave much time for modeling. The European soccer season began in earnest today. We will start Saturday morning watching a match together. Then off to celebrate our victory, or drown our sorrow, with brunch. After that, back home for a domestic game at noon. The one thing I absolutely feel I need to do Saturday afternoon is measure the scenery space available on T-Trak single modules. We leave Sunday for my mother-in-law's house, stopping for another soccer game along the way, where I will spend a week doing domestic chores. In my spare time I hope to come up with a plan to scenic the modules. So, there it is. My modeling plans for the weekend are to accomplish one simple task. Wish me luck.

    Stay safe,

IVe been busy this week figuring out how to make digital liveries for the Digital San Luis and Rio Grande. As I get each batch of cars done, I Have been entering them into JMRI Ops pro -- Last night I started scattering some cars around the layout so that I can start up operations with a simple train or 2 just to get the feel of it -- I want to continue that, Continue laying track, establishing scenes and businesses -- I may also take some time to do some architectural visualization work -- I found a log home plan that I want to work on -- and then there is iRacing, and NASCAR -- all in all -- will be a full weekend
