Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. We are flying through August, and it looks like we are all getting a lot accomplished. Let's see what we have on the list this weekend.

Friday: Another Friday off this week so I'll be working a bit on the valance project for the layout. I had yesterday off as well so I got part of the valance put up. I need to go to the lumbar store this morning and pick up a few supplies so I can work on that today. It's coming along nicely. I'll also be mowing and cleaning the Mustang up.

Saturday: We have invited Ang's dad over as there is a car show in the next town over. I have some brisket, some homemade rub and some hickory wood, so the plan is to smoke some brisket for dinner Saturday. Ang's dad and I will attend the nearby car show with our Mustangs and come back and get a few things done until the brisket is done. We'll see what else I get done.

Sunday: Not much planned. This is the third Sunday so Ang and I will go to the big Antique show of the same name and see what neat stuff is out there. Any time left over from that will be spent on my valance project.

So how about you? What do you have planned this weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 22nd to see how we all did. Until then, have a productive weekend, stay safe and healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Good morning all and Happy Friday. Like Jim, I have today off, so I'm gonna milk it for all its worth w/ modeling time. Plans for this weekend:

    1. Decal a couple of covered hoppers from the C&O 400 to 424 series. The Bowser covered hoppers are a good replication of this car. The C&O ordered these in '37 and they were plain-jane lettered. In '53 added new cars/numbers and also painted these to include the "For Progress" herald. I have done these in each iteration and will decal 2 this weekend. 1 for each paint job.
    2. Work on some scenery tasks, Undetermined as to exactly what.
    3. Finish cleaning up the train room. It is getting sloppy in there from the past month's work.

Have a great weekend. Below is a shot of the builders photo of the covered hoppers.

or the weekend I still need to trim the weeping cherry tree and weed the side garden. Not sure what else I will do around the house but there is always laundry. I will need to make a run for gas for the car probably to Delaware and then there are runs to the produce store, grocery store, and PetSmart. I need to spruce up the car and get things out of it since Monday it goes into the auto body shop for at least two weeks.

I have a couple kts to finish by replacing a broken truck on one, and adding the correct screws to attach the trucks. I have two Con-Cor Tropicana reefers that need washers added to the lid of the coupler boxes to tighten the seal and stop the couplers from bouncing excessively. Then there are a slew of cars to tune up. I have a couple new locos to test.

    TGIF - Y'all

So, now that I have received my new wazoo head band style magnifier - I can continue decaling my beet gons. That's about all I have planned - Oh, and perhaps start on the loads for the aforementioned bet gons.

    Report on Monday

Y'all have a fantastic weekend -- stay cool!!

Friday: Will try to do some painting later today, still recovering from my Cardiac Rehab this morning, they increased the duration and hardness of my excercises again today. Tonight will be bowling, I hope for better scores than last week.

Saturday: Club session in the morning followed by whatever we come up with, as it is our 42 wedding anniversary on Monday.

Sunday: Laundry and some decaling and model building.

Still more great projects headed down the pike. :) (Side note: There is too much laundry going on.) Also, I don't need a head magnifier. My head looks big enough. :p This past week I realized that I had entered "The Battle of the auto castings". Later I will be making the fifteenth attempt. (Surely, I exaggerate!) Anyway, this project is whipping my tail, for now. However, I do have another working plan. (y) This includes rearranging the mold master into two parts. We shall see how that goes. ;) Have fun and be safe. :D

My biggest project this weekend is painting track,(~ 40'). I don't have an airbrush, and it's a little tedious, but it makes a difference. I might get to my W.P. SW1 project, I've never done stanchions and handrails before, I guess I'll explore epoxying the stanchions to the frame first. Drilling a bunch of tiny holes freehand doesn't sound too good. Have a great weekend, and Safety First! Bobby.

I have several dozen n scale kits waiting to be assembled. It's been a while since I worked on my Walthers Hardwood Furniture Company kit. Maybe I'll TRY to glue the 4 main walls together using Testors tube glue. I tried using liquid cement, but it evaporated before I could get the walls glued together.

    Is it Friday already?

This week I have some stuff I need to get done or start.

Saturday is the division meeting. After that I need to start working on my modules and get them ready for our next show in November. It’s show season! Nov, Feb, March, June…. I need to start the redesign of my layout. It needs to be more user friendly, ops friendly, and just plain better.

Sunday more designing. Cleaning up my space and module work. Also need to start working on some scratch builds.

My plans for now are to work on getting the switch control boards for Walsenburg placed, and the switches working. I need to lay some streets, work on signaling and crossing gates. On sunday and monday (which Im taking off to replace my missing saturday) im planning to continue to work on the layout and the above listed projects. I also need to do laundry and get some sleep

Im starting a blog about the digital layout project -- https://forum.mrhmag.com/post/the-digital-san-luis-and-rio-grande-12426980?pid=1333263637 Im hoping to be posting screen shots etc and pics of the layout -- we'll see :D

Two more truss rods and my gondola will be ready to paint. Hoping to complete that process Monday. More playing with scenery ideas on my T-Trak modules. Who knows what, if anything else...

I’m late in posting, but this weekend I’m going to work on my Metra bicycle cars. I’ve got to paint and decal and put passengers in my last two. Also, I received some bicycles so I’ll install those in all five.

I’ve try to finish my last two flat cars carrying Metra coaches.

And if there’s time I might work on another reefer and some hoppers for WC.
