From 06/29/1991 on the former SAL main at Lugoff, SC . The 3124 is a GE B23-7 and the 2591 (former L&N 4081) is a GP-38-2.

Quick shot taken from the car while driving. While on my way up to the Armadillo Ranch last weekend I saw that one of the GATX critters had escaped the General American Transportation plant outside of Hearne. They are usually busy shuffling the cars at the plant and do not venture out. Perhaps UP was short of power in the Hearne yard and borrowed it or had to drag a broken down UP unit back to town.

The locomotives were near the UP yard office at the far right and the GATX plant is at the lower left.

A long time ago... An SP transfer from Brooklyn Yard, up to BN's Hoyt Street Yard, is passing through Portland Union Station:

Every so often, something interesting shows up at the Marlette elevator. If I recall correctly, this is at least the second time one of these old D&H cars has shown up here.

Half a lifetime ago, it seems, my best friend captures the Ski Train near Blue Mountain Road crossing, near milepost 22 on the Moffat. 13 March 2004.

Wow! It's amazing how far these loads roam. Bathtub hoppers and 3-Bays often pass through South Carolina. Those RBM&N hoppers are loaded with anthracite coal which is used in a variety of manufacturing industries.
