More good stuff from all of you. I keep harping on the variety of subject matter but I can't help it, you continue to provide it every week. Sure wish I could get out again. I did visit the Oregon Rail Heritage Center yesterday for it's 10th anniversary celebration and was impressed with the large number of people who were there. Doesn't look like they will let the big heavy guys out again, 4449 and 700. The turntable that is under construction will provide quite a show for visitors, though. Visualize one of the big guys steamed up and rotated on the table.

I'm finding that revisiting places I was at years ago is sometimes frustrating and depressing because everything has changed so much. My wife and I stopped last week at Martinsburg, WV along the B&O main. It used to be a simple place where you could park, walk around and get some nice shots. Our recent visit found metered parking everywhere, fencing, warning signs, an expanded station, shrubbery and other impediments to photography and ease of visitation. We narrowly avoided a parking ticket in a nearly empty lot when I spotted a security guy headed to our car.

NA Tower as seen here still stands, barely. I'm happy to have found it in better days on 04/02/1989, as seen in the bottom photo.

I was hearing that there is a sharp curve that needed adjusting every time the bigger locos went thru them, but the new owners, (since the previous one has passed away and would fix it after use) saying they don't justify fixing the trackage anymore.

    Bummer.

Did capture the eastbound Capitol Limited arriving at Martinsville, WV on 09/21/22. I shot this through window glass, so have been attempting some color correction.

Waited west of Roanoke at Montgomery Tunnel for an hour on two days and caught only one train entering the tunnel. Was hoping for one exiting the tunnel. Maybe next time. Sure miss the N&W PL signals that were once here.

Someone found a solution to a chain link fence that irked photographers at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania at Strasburg. I found several spots with the fencing pulled down, each strategically placed to allow good shots of equipment, such as this Monongahela Connecting Railroad Alco C-415. [09/23/2022]

The Mon Conn sure loved their center cabs!:)

They were a big customer for the GE center cabs since the 1930s, so the C415 was a logical choice.

Interesting also are those Hi-Ad trucks.
