THE MAXI-IV sets are here! AZL announced these sets were coming in their September pipeline video. The first release from AZL is for Florida East Coast (FEC). The cars are brown and feature a patch over the previous car owners name. Three sets are being offered: 906554-1 FEC MAXI-IV Set 55457 Brown / FEC "Patch" 906554-2 FEC MAXI-IV Set 55424 Brown / FEC "Patch" 906554-3 FEC MAXI-IV Set 55431 Brown / FEC "Patch" The cars are articulated and ride on modified AZL 90001 roller-bearing trucks. These trucks swing quite freely. A railing ramp is suggested for placing the cars on the track. A minimum of curve of 220mm and above is recommended. Each set will come with six containers. The 53' containers are the first time AZL has offered corrugated type containers in this length. The 40' containers are a rerelease with new tooling as well. AZL plans to offer a mix of containers from discount stores, online stores, overnight delivery services, shipping companies, moving companies and railroads. C&O Pere Marquette Sets! AZL has brought the Chesapeake & Ohio’s Pere Marquette to Z scale! Between 1946 and 1971, this train operated between Detroit and Grand Rapids, MI. The train was equipped with lightweight passenger cars pulled by EMD E7s. Today the route is operated by Amtrak. AZL is offering the C&O E7s as well as four passenger cars that were specifically lettered for the Pere Marquette. The cars include a REA baggage, US Post Office Mail car, diner and a coach.
