Hello all, I am fairly new into the model railroading game and wanted to look into some buildings and scenery. I am wanting to build a city that is reminiscent of 1930s-40s Chicago. Does anyone have any building or passenger train station recommendations that they like or can think of for this area?

Walthers and DPM are good places to start, but it depends on what kinds of buildings you are looking for, and even what scale you are referring to.

Your skill level plays a big part too. There are lots of smaller brands making wood or resin kits, which may take a bit more finesse to assemble than a simple plastic kit. You could also scratchbuild using styrene sheets if you need a specific structure or you want to be more accurate to a prototype.

Here is a website with card stock for Chicago. Not sure if it is run by the city of Chicago but it looks pretty good. My brother-in-law is from Chicago I'll have to ask him about this?

I guess you have to buy most of them. Not really sure?

There are some Free ones. I am going to have to try one of these in N Scale!!
