Hello everyone, does anyone have any good suggestions as to what color would be best to come close to the Pacer Stacktrain/BRAN Intermodal Blue?

Ive got several sets of Maxi-IV's that I want to patch and re-number for DTTX, and Ill be weathering/fading the paint on them, so an exact match is not necessary as I would like the patches to stand out anyways. But still would like something close to. Anything you guys have used to get a good base?

    Thanks in advance!

You're probably going to have to test some samples yourself. Looking at photos online, there seems to be a number of blue shades, between Walthers Scenemaster containers, Kato well cars, and the Atlas wells.

Here's a patchout with brighter blue paint: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4623122
Here are some Atlas cars that have a few different colors of patches: https://www.pwrs.ca/announcements/view.php?ID=18446

Depending on your paint brand, I would start with something like CSX blue or B&O blue. Add some white or grey/black to change the shade depending on your weathering method. I would look around at Tru Color or Scalecoat and see what they have. Maybe find a color you could use on another future project. Pan Am has a darker more purple color that could go well with the Pacer blue, or you could try Big Sky Blue for something paler or more washed out.

    Hmm... BRAN is brown.
    You might want to add
    raisins to it... yum...

Thanks for your input and suggestions for colors! Im going to see if I can't pick up some Tru-Color CSX, B&O, and Pan Am blues from the hobby shop and test paint some scrap plastic and see which one would be an appropriate color to use. I think between those I should be able to both paint match (or pretty close) the handrails and mix a different shade for the newer patches.
