Hi all! Happy Black Friday! Since it looks like Russell is a bit tied up today so I'll get the Weekend Photo Fun throttled up with this Athearn Challenger paired with a pair of Scale Trains auxiliary tenders and an Atlas baggage car.
Good afternoon from cloudy, cool and windy Northeast Ohio! Here is this weeks finished projects: First up is an Athearn Sieco 5077CF Boxcar kit, finished with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red #2 and Silver paints than lettered with Mask Island Decals (Now available from Highball Graphics with Hubert's death). Car was originally in food service with the N&W and is now in regular service after the NS merger with previous NW black box cars cars now painted red and Southern red hoppers now painted black. Next is another AHM covered hopper that I upgraded with new ladders and wire grabs and a Plano Roofwalk along with new center discharge hoppers I had left over from other kits. Painted the car with Scalecoat II MofW Gray paint and lettered with Mask Island decals for the second set of Covered Hoppers received by the Monan. A pair of Athearn Ex-Illinois Terminal SD39's with a general freight on the Strongsville club layout. Thanks for looking, Rick Jesionowski
Club layout image for your viewing. Extra 4276 rounding the North side of the zoo : Here she is pulling the 2% climb and headed for the tunnels :
Built detailed painted decaled and weathered these GP35's over a few years the DD35 was a kitbash project was was a challenge on its own. Departing the yard. Below the rear of the train has finally cleared the yard and is on the main track, as throttle is being applied in gobs. Have a good weekend!
Woodland Scenics Master Arm traffic lights mock up. Uploaded with brand new iPad. Have to figure out rotation stuff. Only one Green and one Red so far. It appears you have to hook up Red and Green separately? But not 100% sure. Only way I could get them to work for now. Love them so far. Never mind, that’s how I took the photo. I feel stupid ☺️
Thanks for getting this started. Been up at the "Armadillo Ranch" where the Straw Clan has gathered for the Thanksgiving holiday. Was having issues with the water pump all day that kept me busy. Due to the drought over the summer, the water table is way down and the foot valve on the jet pump does not go all the way to the bottom of the well. With 15 folks here flushing commodes and all the dish washing going on, the poor well can't recharge quick enough. All the rain that we have been having the last few months has not percolated down to the water table yet. That an a few other maintenance issues have kept me off line. Anyway enough of my drama. I had this new image, taken on my photo diorama at home, canned for this weekend.
That's a really nice scene @Daves_Trains , some fine work there. Love the station with the potted plants, period-correct vehicles, billboard, palms, F, et al.
The Moon gave just enough light to catch a couple trains crawling through Kim's Kanyon on my SPIDGE RR.
Woodland Scenics Mater Arm traffic lights all four mocked up. These things are awesome so far. Cleaning up the layout, need to vacuum, some painting of base, finish installing flex track, and try to properly install traffic lights. I used two connectors one each for Red and Green pair.
