Good morning from Sunny and Cold Northeast Ohio!

Here is what I got done this week:

E&C 52'6" Greenville Gon kit, replaced the plastic grabs and sill steps with Tichy Grabs and A-Line Sill steps. Painted the car with Scalecoat II Reading Green and lettered with Oddballs decals. Car was in general service on the MKT. Used the Greenville car as it had the right number of stakes for the lettering layout.

Next an Intermountain R70-20 Reefer kit, added Yarmouth Models Sill Steps in place of the fragile plastic ones from the kit. Painted the car with Scalecoat II White and Black paints and lettered with Microscale decals. Car represents the SP repaints after the breakup of PFE between the SP and UP. Cars were all painted the same on the SP except various colors were used for the logos, this one happens to be red.

A couple of Athearn SD45's with a SP General Freight running on the Strongsville Club layout which will be open this weekend during the Strongsville Historical Society's Christmas festival.

    Thanks for looking!

A lot of different things this weekend.
First up: an Athearn SW7 cow & calf set I picked up real cheap. I need to recreate the handrails....
Second: we have two photos in front of the grain silos.
Third: is the D&RGW 5382. This is an old blue box kit that started off as an undecorated SD40T-2. I painted, detailed and weathered this when I was living in England.
Fourth: Athearn Kenworth and Coca-cola trailer in front of the Coke Bottle F7s...

"Winters First Snow" This 12 X 12 module is my first attempt at a winter scene. I posted earlier this week in "What's on Your Workbench" and this is my progress since that post. Looks like I have a little more work on placement of snow on some of the trees and maybe a few shrubs. Maybe some ice skaters on the pond and people sledding down the hill. 20221104_160447b.jpg

The last couple of weeks have been crazy preparing for a cruise with my wife and going on the cruise which has not allowed me to visit. We got back on last Sunday and by Wednesday I found out I have COVID. However, before I went on my cruise I ran my new Bachmann Spectrum K4. In my model world it was assigned the Atlantic City run thusly it pulled four Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines P70 coaches (Broadway Limited).

Thanks Moose, I can see the benefit of a double module over a single to improve the scene. Maybe I will have to make another Winter module to match up with this one.

Better late then never we always say. Since my layout is in a climate controlled area next to me at all times. I just realized after getting the NEW WS Mast Arm traffic lights that my favorite thing on my layout is lights. of almost any kind, but for sure the WS Just Plug System. One of my goals for 2023 is to actually get them installed semi-correctly and kind of permanent. I never glue anything down cause I always change my mind. So after looking at my crooked traffic lights for a week or so, me lazy, need to fix them at some point. Decided to mockup my WS street lights again. I kind of use them as a night light, even when not in the mood to run trains or work on the layout. Even the locomotive light's or the Power & Light sign I have, need to find it, just makes me kind of calm for some reason.

They are just kind of in random places for now! It's still totally cool though. Must remember NOT to run a train or locomotives will chew up tiny wires and damage all kinds of things. Yes, it has happened before when I forgot the wires were laying across the tracks, during mockup phase.

Need to hook them up to Alexa as I bought like 4 of those plugs a few years back, so I can just tell her when to turn them On or Off from across the room. Once again, me lazy :)

Hey you photography people. How in the world on my iPhone 13 do I take a photo that is not so bright? There is an F stop settings thingy but have no clue how to use it. Any info appreciated. At least I can try.

It looks way cooler in real life, trust me :) Also noticed I need to connect the Metal street lights and Wooden Pole street lights to a different spot in the hub as their brightness is different for each kind.

The automatic features of the cell phone cameras will adjust to pick up more light in a dark environment but not necessarily the amount you want. They tend to overdo it. I can sell you some special magic dust that you throw into the air right before you take the photo that may help. ;)
But then again, you probably won't get the results you want. Photo shop can make things better or worse. This adjustment is "not so bright" as your original.

Great video. I like the flange noise, that really adds a lot. The name for your "loop" is a real hoot. :) As that first train went off into the distance, I watched the caboose. It tracked very realistically. (y)(y)(y)

How come my photo's never look close to theirs :) The marketing department would never let them use Photoshop to enhance the photos, right :) But mainly that they are probably using O Scale for the scenes :) And I fall for it every time. Don't tell me marketing doesn't work :)

All their lighting photos look like these! As in perfect :) Dang I feel for the advertising again :)

My traffic lights are suppose to look like this :)

Hey, in2tech, your street scene is AWESOME! Please stop comparing it with some highly-doctored computer image by a Madison Avenue jerk who couldn't possibly create what you create with your own two hands, without computer enhancements.
