Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend and the first complete weekend of 2023. A few of you posted some great New Year's Modeling Resolutions and it looks like 2023 will be a busy year for all of us. Let's get started.

Saturday: Parts came for both the Falcon and Journey and the Angela's dad stopped by yesterday to pick up parts and get an early head start on the Falcon so we can get Angela's Journey back to 100% again. We'll get up early and head the hour and half north to get the Falcon buttoned up and get Angela's wheel bearing installed. Depending on what time we finish, we'll get some dinner and I'll clean up the garage for the arrival of the Falcon.

Sunday: I think Jared and his new girlfriend are stopping by for a visit but other than that, nothing planned. I want to get some work done on the corner module and build the corner of my sky board backdrop. I would really like to have it installed and painted before I have to leave for the Amherst Society Railroad Hobby Show in Massachusetts the end of this month. I also have a few N scale projects I want to wrap up.

So, what about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 9th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

It's been a quiet first week of the year so far. After work today, going to make a run to the craft store and get some Aleene's Tacky Glue and see if I can finish up the wood deck on a bulkhead flat Saturday. I also recently got a M/T Truck Frame Load kit so going to decide which flat I want to use for it and get started on assembling that. Sunday will maybe be finishing up that load and doing a lot of laundry. Next week kicks off several projects for work so it will be super busy so hopefully this weekend will be relaxing. Hope you all have a great weekend!

    Happy Friday to Y'all,

Yeah - what a first week of '23. It's been crazy busy at work.

Well, I doubt I will get to my modeling work bench this weekend. I've been waiting for a break in the wet weather, I have to add weather proofing to our deck. It's above our living room. And has been leaking. PITA!!

    So.... (I hope)
    Saturday: Pressure wash the deck.
Sunday: First new layer of coating.

And - hopefully, I can start adding details to my FA project --

    Y'all have a great weekend,
    Wolf

We will probably start taking down the Christmas decorations now that the Feast of the Epiphany aka Little Christmas has passed. It has been our families’ tradition not to take the decorations down until after January 6th. This year won’t be too bad as we put up only a third of what we normally do. Having COVID before Christmas put a damper on things this year. If I run out of things there is always laundry.

I have an Accurail 36 FT flower boxcar to finish assembling. If I dare, I may venture into new DCC territory and change the address on a couple of locomotives. This will be a first for me. And if I get even wilder, I may try to make a consist. If all else fails I still have a bunch of rolling stock to check and tune up if needed.

Good morning from cold, cloudy and snowy Northeast Ohio!

Like Tom we will be taking down the Christmas decorations this weekend, although we do not have a lot up, also have bowling tonight along with going to the drug store to pickup a couple of prescriptions. After visiting the cardiologist this week I will be able to cut down my prescriptions by three items leaving me with only two to take each day.

Saturday, will be going to the club for some train running and conversation. Also will be picking up my new club shirt and any dues for this coming year. Later in the evening will be working on decaling a couple of cars and finishing a kit after I get some parts in the mail today.

Sunday, more chores and continue on the decaling and kit building.

    Good morning all,

We have had all kinds of wind and rain here. If it stops long enough, I'll try to get out and clean up the yard a bit.

The control board for the serial staging project is now finished so this weekend I will be installing and testing it. Also may work on the point to point controller for the modular layout.

Wishing everyone a good start to the new year.

Yes. First full weekend of '23. Awesome. I'll grab my early morning coffee and head to the work shop or layout room and let the weekend modeling plan come to me as I wake up. That's the plan this weekend!!!

    Happy modeling in '23!!

Vehicle = If you want it done right... (y) On a side note, I have found Aleene's Tacky Glue too hot (i.e., too fast drying) for me. Probably just what is needed and maybe used previously for wood. Little bit crazy this week around here too. I find researching industries fun. :) (Laundry is rearing up again. :cautious:) Sometimes I like to get wild myself. The snow! Ahh... the snow. Finished control board = good start for year. (y) Letting plan come to you = inspiration. (y) I am continuing to work on the hopper. Next will be gluing the two beam slope sheets. The center slope sheet is not even, so each one had to be made with different dimensions. o_O This is not too noticeable since the car is so #&*@ small. Next is the center beam and running gear and couplers. (Almost a run-on sentence.) (y) After that might be some type of foliage. Have a restful, fine weekend. :D

It's that happy time of year, when many look forward to income taxes. I'll be digging through my 2022 paperwork and getting that all as ready as possible. I need a few M/T couplers. So may order them. I also have a balky Unitrack switch, so might add one of those to the order, if.... Then to the workbench, I hope. I have have an idea for an HOn30 critter shell bash. Hoping to also move the engine house project a bit further along.
