Good morning from cold, cloudy and wintry mix Northeast Ohio! Here is what I completed this week. Another caboose, this time a Precision Scale version of a PRR N5b, the N5b's were modified N5 that had a number of changes that were manufactured in 1941 thus accounting for the b designation. Painted with Scalecoat PRR Freight Car Red and Black paints and lettered with a combination of K4 and Champ Decals. Next up a Front Range 50' ACF Boxcar kit, added centered 8' double doors, Moloco ACF cushioned coupler pocket, Branchline 50' Diagonal Panel Roof and A-Line sill steps. Painted with Scalecoat II ATSF Red and Reefer Yellow paints and lettered with Mask Island Decals. Car was one of 100 owned by the T&P for general service, similar to 400 cars owned by parent MP and MI railroads. Rapido Pennsy FA and FB-2's with a general freight running on the Strongsville Club Layout. Everyone have a great weekend! Rick Jesionowski
From August 1992, a high platform station I'd scratchbuilt for my N Scale road. I'd painted and decaled the Kato D&H RS-3 and Con-Cor NYS&W RDC because these road names weren't available at the time. The railroad, built in the late '80s, survived a household move to another state and had a long life, meeting its demise just 5 years ago.
Heres a couple pictures of some freight classification action at Walsenburg Yard on the Digital San Luis and Rio Grande
Wow, that's a really neat picture, with super fine detailing and painting throughout, figures and all.
Thanks Hardcoaler. I wanted to detail the passenger cars but couldn't justify the cost of painted figures so this was my attempt at painting figures and the car interior.
Getting close to completing this one. Just a few more roof details and some weathering and it will be ready for the layout. Posed here on a diorama to take a look at photos, as they reveal problems you might not otherwise see. Hope you all are having a good weekend! -Bob T.
