Just purchased 3 of 4 of the old Atlas 94' tanks cars. Have a bid in, on the 4th car that was available. Should have the 3 by Monday, the 20th. Have about a 4 day wait, to see if I get the 4th car!! This time, they're gonna stay in my collection, and NOT be sold!! Did that with the 3 cars I once had, many years ago!!
Got a Kato C50 on the way in! Also, picked up an Atlas Turntable today, gonna go the KISS route for the layout.
"If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all, gloom, despair and agony on me." Got 3 new Kato locomotives with factory ESU sound installed, and not a single one of them work. One of them was my #46 Amtrak 50th Anniversary car.
Just take 'em to Nurse Goodbody! And while you're waiting for them, you can stay at the Empty Arms Hotel.
MT's flat car with house boat load will make a quick project to work on in the near future. Now I have the second of the two UP PS-2s from MT and am current with the BNSF family series. The SP&S is the first boxcar with a roof walks I've picked up from MT in years which are now see through. Nice!
So far, 2 Atlas 94 foot tank cars: Citgo and GATX. Have a Wanda Petroleum due Monday. Hope to add the Texaco car tomorrow. Also a 2.75 inch Rio Grande pewter medallion. Not sure of what it was for. Any ideas??
With our Mom in a care facility and Dad gone for five years, one of my somewhat herculean tasks, assigned by my siblings, has been to "deal with" Dad's train room. That means, for the last two years, as time permits, I've been matching hundreds and hundreds of N-scale cars and locomotives to their boxes and crystal cases. As such, one of the very last things I need to do is to buy more. Especially since I belong to an HO scale club. That said, this week, I saw something on Facebook Marketplace that I decided I HAD to have. First, because I grew up in Akron, Ohio and Second, because my wife and I serve on the board of a Liberian mission (and have been there several times). When we travel to our mission site in Harrisburg, Liberia both to and from the airport, we drive through the Firestone rubber plantation. So, when I saw this, I knew I had to have it. It may end up on my bookshelf at work. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
The dream is to retire and buy a house before we have to sell Mom's house so that Dad's entire layout (empire) can come to live with us. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Very hard not to find something at a swap. Just had to get a Chesapeake & mOhio Atlas 40' boxcar and Santa Fe Micro-Trains 50' reefer.
Uh oh... I just received some GS4 war babies with installed Lok Sound decoders. I hope there isn't a problem with them!
Purchases slowing down a bit as I get ready to move to the DC area. Not pictured, a complete set of the Chuo line E233 from Kato. Picked up used in amazing condition. There’s a Japanese n scale modules club near DC that I’m hoping to find time to join when I get there in a few months. Below-both of the SBTX protein gondola sets and an Atlas coalveyor-the latter will get side extensions and lettered for WC and join the other 6 that I already did once everything gets unpacked (and found!). I couldn't resist this GP9 chop nose with a custom paint scheme. It's a LL GP20 underneath and needs some TLC both mechanically and on the paint, but I think it looks awesome Sent from my SM-S901U1 using Tapatalk
Recieved yesterday: Wanda Petroleum, the 3rd of 4 Atlas N Scale 94' tank cars. Texaco, the 4th and final car due by Friday! Colorado Railroad Annual #11 Need to get it to local print shop to have cover laminated next, to prevent it from getting any worse! Sorry for washed out pic! Should have taken from a slight angle, to avoid camera flash! Colorado Railroad Annual #12 Also needs to be taken in to have cover laminated, before it gets any worse!
Had another steamer show up today. Found this Kato C50 2-6-0 at a good price, so it arrived today. Strong little puller, easily handled half a dozen cars up a 2% grade!
Oh, forgot to add to the above post. It traveled from Georgia, to Nashville, to Memphis, to Little Rock, to Los Angeles [?!?] to Little Rock again, before arriving here...
