Any Proto:87 modelers in the house?

Did anyone see the article “HO “finescale” test bed” in Model Railroad Planning 2003? The author built a very clever little switching layout as a way to test Proto: 87 equipment and building techniques.

 

Yes, I thought that was rather interesting... Lots of other nice layouts too.
