Local HO club has decided to build modules. Atlas Code 100 has been adopted as the main line standard. Peco turnouts are recommended due to their sprung (hold in place) design. Does Peco look ok with Atlas? Secong item, I'm planning a module featuring a logging short line. If I use Peco turnouts with their twin coil switch machines (controls on the rear of the module), can these be thrown manually, "finger flippin'," by an operator from the front?
Jackson- I'm an N scaler. So cannot speak directly to your question. However, in my scale, I've used Atlas and Peco track together for many years. No troubles at all. The ties on the Peco switches were thicker (height) than Atlas. But overcoming that requires only seconds. I used to have the Peco switch machines on some of my N. But went to manual. (I like walking around with the train, and doing the real work!) If I recall correctly, I could manually throw those switch machines. So, if the design for HO is the same, or similar, am thinking you would be able to use manual control. Hopefully, someone will input some more definitive HO information! Boxcab E50
I use Peco turnouts with Atlas Code 100 Ho rail and their is no problem functionally or visually. I use Tortoise switch machines which prevents manual swithcing & I suspect the same is true for Peco machines. Overriding the machine could cause damage unless the machine isn't powered & the movement is slow. Take care, jim
Thanks for the responses. You've confirmed what I suspected, so it's off to the shop for a sack of Peco and Atlass.
