    For this week....

I'm working on some old N scale 1996-era Kato Santa Fe freight F7s. Even though
Intermountain is coming out with some sometime soon...... I can't wait (smile).

    Have a great week, all.

Joe and Sharon Mainz' HO scale layout will be on the NMRA Lone Star region tour. Joe is a member of the local HO club; we had coffee and dessert at his house last Friday and I had a chance to take pictures.

This layout exudes patience. It is about 8 x 16 feet and is wonderfully organized. Wonderful ballast and track work.

Bridge and water modeling the picture below. All of Joe's scenes are documented for a specific place and time. Model:

    Prototype:
Road made by using oil based paint to color inverted asphalt shingles. This causes the discolorations you see here. Joe found this by accident.
Another well organized scene. All prototype siding locations, etc.

AFAIK, this layout has not been photographed before. Joe and Sharon quietly move along on this project and spend a lot of time making structures for the club. Not a bad job, I would say! [IMG]
