Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of Athearn's exploded-view instructions for a GP-60 and an SW-1200? I have two of the Athearn GP-60 Demonstrators and I am not sure where everything goes.

I would go to my local hobby shop to see if the owner would have a copy made from out of one of the boxed loco's hes got! That be my first try, then if that failed, go to Athearn an contact them an ask! HTH

    John,

I have tried both of those ideas. Trying to talk to anyone from Athearn is like taking me to the dentist. It is a no go and I have tried a couple of times. My LHS does not have any and has not have any for awhile. This is why I am on here wondering if anyone has a copy and can scan it to a pdf or some thing. I was just taking a shot in the dark. I usually keep all that stuff but after I moved it all disappeared.

    Scott

Scott, I know how you feel with talking to Athearn its like delays to no end I ordered parts from them a MONTH ago! that were free replacements, nothing yet at all!

I do the same thing! I'm in need of a Athearn Sheet for a C44-9 that got pitched out an all.... I have a copied made, an let the sheet lay on my desk an it got pitched! So, I'm on a hunt for that (I had made a copy of it for someone doing just what you are now!) looking for a copy! And now, I need one myself!

Being I oewn my own repair shop I keep all these type sheets wether I have the type loco in my own collection or not for work on a customers loco.... But if I had the GP-60 sheet, I'd forsure copy it for you an snail mail it, (I don't have a scanner), you wouldn't happen to have a copy of the Athearn C-44-9 sheet by chance?

    Sorry John,

No C-44-9 sheet. I did try Athearn one last time. They sent me an e-mail saying I should have in about a week. Atleast this time I actually got a response. I wonder if they are changing the way they do things. It wasn't long ago that they would only go through there dealers. We will have to see what happens. I will ask a couple of my operating buddies, they might have a sheet of a C-44-9. I try to run the small stuff.

Good to hear you got a responce Scott! I've been awaiting on Impact car parts that the whole sprue was missing, haven't heard or recieved anything yet!

As for the 2 offers on a AC4400, an the Scooter your comment with asking one of your operating friends, I can use a sheet from both! I'd pay or reemburse cost of having it copied, an then mailed to me VIA snail mail.

As I have a shop of my own, I do repair work an custom building an such, an I'm building a leaflet book, 3 ring binder of each companies instruction sheets an the scematics to each loco, an even cars! To be able to locate things for the models, like parts, for identification, parts numbers for ordering replacements, etc.... This way, I have that information at my finger tips! PLUS in a case such as this, I can have one copied to send to someone thats in need of a sheet....So, in that case Scott, you get that GP-60 sheet, and the SW-1200 sheet, post it here that you have it an all an let me know an I'll pay you to have it photo copied for the cost of, an the cost of snail mailing it to me!

    Deevs,
Same for that Athearn AC4400 sheet, you get me a copy of it, an e-mail me on it, I'll pay you the cost of shipping it to me, an the cost of having it photocopied!

You both can use the e-mail address in my signature!
