Hey everone. I've got a list of things to make and added kitbashing a IC 4-6-0 like the one Casey Jones ran. Scince his anniversary is in April, I need to be pointed in the correct direction of an HO (affordable) steamer to get started with. Bear in mind I am new to kitbashing. Thanks for any tips, suggestions, or comments. After this I will take an MDC Shay and make it into Ely-Thomas Lumber Co. #6 like at Pine Creek Railroad. I've had the pleasure of seeing it up close. Thanks again.

Model Power has a 4-6-0 that you could use to get started with thats not too expensive. Model Power even calls it the a "Casey Jones" 4-6-0. There would need to be cab modifications since the top of the cab doesn't have the celestory(probably not spelled right). I thought I heard some where that the Casey's engine was actually a 2-8-0, but I'm not sure you would have to look at some IC rosters to make sure. It sounds like a good project though.

One thing about the Model power ten-wheeler the motor and the drive mechanisms are in the tender and not from the engine.

MJC, I have several Rivarossi Big Boys and like them all. I still remember riding in the Cab of a real one from the roundhouse all the way to the big Coal tipple, and I really liked that one! :D
