    Hey,
Here's a little town I put together last week. I think it'll fill the space nicely.

Cross-posted from the N Scale Forum:

I always cringe when someone says they can't do a backdrop.

Here's the scene that need a backdrop. It's the high bridges over the harbor. The bridges are very close to the garage door.

Here's a piece of 0.040 styrene, cut to fit behind the bridges, and spraybombed with blue, green, brown and yellow spray paint in about five minutes:

I let it dry for a few hours, then slid it into place. It is coved over the bridge.

    Simple? I think so.

Texas Crushed Stone in Georgetown had a historic railcar tour and this was also on the route, the quarry. Four engines were on display along with quarrying equipment.

Georgetown Rail Road Baldwin Switcher 1007, which isn't used anymore (S-series, I'm guessing):

    I just love EBay. :D
Here's my latest EBay win, a Key Imports A & B F3 set. I'm going to have fun with these with Craigs recent release from BLMA of the E/F detailing set.
Tried a sunset shot tonight. These units have a finish that looks just like stainless steel.

    Nice photos guys!

I had to add some MOPAC power to the HO
layout because it was lacking identity.

    Hello all,

As usual some very excellent pictures. :D Been awhile but I have popped my head in and looked at Weekend Photo Fun. Been busy and progress on the HO layout has been slow. However I do have some pictures.

I painted the background, not happy with it, I stink at painting  but it will do for now.

And I managed to get the first of several fuel stands installed at the engine house.

One down and three more fuel, three air/water and two lube/water stands. Oh and the sand tower.

That's all for me. Heading out to dinner. Might get more of the engine service facilities done and if I do will post later this weekend.

Great stuff by all so far.

No aliens here just a detour train over the Central, brand new B&O GP38 leading a yellow nose C&O GP30.

Here's a Roller Bearing Models 100 ton hopper I just finished, don't recommend this one, poor instructions.

A great weekend and great inspiration as usual [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Here on the BearCatRR, we have deconstructed and repurposed another unit that will work with the restricted operating areas and finances of the BearCatRR. This idea was in the Jan-Feb NScale Railroading..

SNFF 3 26 06 Jim Younkins Layout Tour Visit

Back in beginning of March 2006, thanks to Bryan Borovec ('Wazzou' on the Trainboard Forum)
for generously arranging a site visit to Jim Younkin's Mud Bay and Southern Layout in Olympia,
    WA - what a treat!

Jim's N scale layout, which has been featured in N Scale Railroading and N Scale
Magazine, is a real gem. Jim is really talented - he and 'Wazzou' are great guys.

Here's a few shots from that memorable visit. I hope you enjoy them as much as I
    enjoyed visiting.

    =========================

Although most of the N scale Mud Bay and Southern layout is single deck, there is a double deck
in the area of the town of Rochester above, and Grand Mound below:

This is the Mud Bay car barge in the Perry Creek area. Jim models a freelance/protolanced freight and
logging railroad set in the Olympia, Washington area:

This is the spectacular McLane Creek Trestle. Great backdrop, eh?:

This is the Bordeaux Yard engine facilities. All the locos were painted/decaled/decoderized by Jim:

A Mud Bay and Southern FM H12-44 is switching in Bordeaux Yard. Jim has remotored them with
Lifelike SW1200 motors and they run super slow and smooth on this DCC layout:

Here's an overview of the Cedar Creek area; the site of first photo in this layout tour
of double-deck Rochester above and Grand Mound below, is just off the left edge of this photo:

Closer look at the Cedar Creek Bridges:

And a trial run by a visiting Santa Fe Trainmaster, testing her ability to haul lumber and logs:

Jim and Wazzou, *thank you* so much again.

These can also be seen up on the web at:
