Since the Atlas forum shut down rather abruptly, I know some of you will be " shopping" for another forum to get your fix. Welcome to all of you who decided to settle here. And by the way, why not take advantage of our contest for this month, which you will see in the "contest" forum.
Rick - Peter checking in here... I guess this will be my new home for forums. Weird choice of action by Atlas!
As a fellow HO scaler and a moderator, I welcome the folks who got displaced by Atlas' decision to close up for the summer. Feel free to look around, respond to topics, or start your own. Or as they say here in Texas, "Make yoreselves ta home!!"
On top of that there are plenty of Railfans here too that can offer Historical and Prototype information that you might find useful in Era specific modeling and Scratch Building.
Guess Atlas has figured enough is enough for a while. Some of the threads were getting obnoxious, to say the least. With their upgrade, they will probably monitor thing's much closer. Anyway, guess this will be the place to be for the summer. Hope the conversations will remain civil.
Plenty of moderators here from all around the world that make sure this is the best place for railfans and modelers alike.
I figure you guys asked for so many different engines, that Atlas had to shut down so they could get all the tooling made!
I'm one of them, just joined. Thanks for the Welcome. As for Atlas, we don't know? [ 06. June 2004, 03:40: Message edited by: NYC-BKO ]
Folks, it's good to have ya'll here! Welcome aboard, and we invite you to stay, even if/when the Atlas forum reopens.
Well I am no stranger to this lovely forum it is just that at The Atlas one there were alot of members and alot of post to keep it rollin. I miss it here anyway so It feels good to be back home where I started which was back in January. Watash long time no here pal. I have updated pictures of my current layout that you have not seen in a while. Here is the link to ithttp://www.railimages.com/gallery/alfredmayo
The Atlas decision caught me on the hop, as I didn't get onto the computer at all yesterday. Is it shut down for the whole summer? Jon
Hi Jon, Glad I found this one, I enjoy seeing pics of your modeling abilities. I think Atlas got tired of babysitting and some of the other things that were happening with multiple user names causing uproars. They are only trying to make it better I think.
I've been lurking here occasionally for a while but spent most of my time on the Atals and Trains fourums. When Atlas shut down, I thought "cool, maybe I can get more done on my trains!" No such luck! Tom
"Throw away stuff"? That's an odd concept to this pack rat.......and my wife don't understand it either....... If you don't believe me, take a look at my 30-plus years' worth of old RR-related magazines Nice tag line- glad to have you aboard!!!
Bob, another buddy sent me list of one liners yesterday and one was "The difference between a garage sale and trash pickup is the distance the stuff is from the curb." Kind of describes my situation, too. Welcome to all of you new arrivals. I think you'll like it here.
