Here's my latest scratchbuilt structure, first time on the layout after being finished. The workers re-shingling the roof are well roped up so they won't fall in the night Paul
Paul, This has to be the best to date. You are really very talented! At least some of us have been working on our layouts. Sadly, I have been a bad boy! Happy Railroading! Russ
Paul, I've got a question. Does the little overhead crane roll on the rails at the top ??? I like the way that looks,, just for what I'm modeling it have to be hyped up in size and made heavier for industrial use... I need to get some N scale metall wheels, the smallest ones possible to make something like that being It ride on rail and actually roll back and forth on the crane track.... I believe you scratchbuilt that, being I never seen a one like that as a kit.. Does it actually work so to speak ???? All in all. Keep up the great work! Looks great!
Great job, Paul! I always enjoy seeing your photos posted here. BTW, I also enjoyed seeing your pics in MR! Pat
Thanks Paul.... Very interesting work you've done their.... Nice! I like it I want to do the same type thing just heavier duty looking for inside a square engine house... As a traveling overhead crane that works inside the engine house! And your pictures like this aide me in how I want to do this type thing! So as said in other posts. you help the beginers and give ideas to the ole mediocre guys. Like me!
Hi Marken, For my shingles, I used 1/64th sheet hardwood, comes in 2' by 3" wide. I just cut strips off at 1/4" wide first then cut the little strips into 1/4" squares (Approx) then glued them on the roof one at a time. (YEAH, I KNOW, I'M MAD) Paul
Thanks Paul. I'm currently working on a diorama and I couldn't find a decent looking roofing material until I seen yours. Any particular source for the hardwood you use? Guess I'll warn the wife I'll be a little "mad" until the roof is finished.
