    Hello!

I have noticed that there are quite a few young members on TrainBoard.com, and I was wondering if any might want to join the Teen Association of Model Railroaders (TAMR). The TAMR is basically an organization similar to the NMRA except for teens (and pre-teens). I myself am 13 years old and I currently hold the office of Central Region Representative. Joining the TAMR has many benefits, and you can find out a lot about the TAMR at their website, tamr.org. For even more information, contact me via email!

I hope to see many new members! [IMG]

Hi...my son is the International Rep for TAMR...DAne Nicholson...known here as BCRailKing...I will tell him you posted. Good luck in your recruiting. TAMR is too small and could use some more members, but I realise it is no easy task. Maybe I will meet you if we go to a convention in the near future. I think the next one is in Canton Ohio.

This summer's TAMR meet will be held all across the state of Ohio. I've been helping Chris Burchett, TAMR president and convention organizer, plan this years meet. Tenatively, we're set to spend the first day in the Toledo area, and the second day we're taking Amtrak to Cleveland to explore over there. After that, God only knows what Chris has planned! :D This is going to be a great meet, and will surely be one of the best in TAMR history.

Several years ago, TAMR held a convention in Central Indiana and I was one of the layouts open for their tour. I was well pleased with the members that came through. They were interested in all aspects of what they saw and were careful about touching. That last is very important as I have seen a number of older modelers that couldn't keep their hands off of the merchandise. :)

I would have them back anytime.

    Hi guys!

    Thanks for the great replies!

For you going to the 2001 National Convention, I hope to see you there! I have also been helping Chris Burchett with the planning, and one of the great places we will be going to is Davis Trains, the biggest train store in the world with 25,000 square feet of trains! Jim Barrett, who works at the store and writes a column for O Gauge Railroading, will be showing us Mr. Davis's private layout and collection, not normally shown to the public. We will also be seeing at least 3 layouts, and I am especially looking forward to meeting Bob and his Pennsylvania & Western layout (click here to go to the Penn West website).

See you there, and maybe we will get some more new members! [IMG]

Well, I'd join, but I just turned 20 yesterday, so that rules me out :D. One more year, damnit... :D
