Going to set down with part of my track plan for the new layout and see if I can work a little selective compression into it. Got all the major facilities for the railyard and the town on it last week and now I'll see how many feet I can shave off and still stay workable. Down loaded and printed some TerraServer aerial photos of Lyle an managed to find a rather unique bridge that both crossed a stream and a road bridge that crossed the same stream. Have to incorporate that into the branchline part. Railmodel Journal, Jan. 05 issue has an article on a small styrene built ice house with the plans in N scale and HO. Comes out to about a 5 inch by 2 and 1/2 inch structure. Walther's Cornerstone structure of an ice house is close to this but larger. And it appears that it can be cut down to this small size and is very similar in design. Since I have several fruit and other produce handling warehouses in the railyard area this will make a nice non railroad owned small icing house for the produce shipping operations. So I will be examining this kit for cutting down. And just maybe I'll finally get back to working on that small engine service facility thats been collecting dust for some weeks now.
Fiinish a meat packing plant kit. Then I'll know for sure the track plan I drew for that area is correct (some of the earlier drawings had to be adjusted because imagination and reality collided. Also must get more track down and take a couple photos for Rail Images. The photos will come sometime this next week.
Man, I hate it when that happens. Since I have such an unreal imaginaiton it happens a lot. Will not get pictures done this weekend cause can't find a source in walking distance for CR-V3 batteries. ;(
Supplys for my little brothers layout has arived, My dad shot down code 55 quick because its not readily available at any of our local LHS's, so i'm gonna grin and bare it and use code 80. Hopefully we can get one of the loops laid out tonight.
