Very new to railroading and coming to the hobby more from a model perspective than a railfan perspective so I am limited on knowledge about types of locos, rail terminology etc. Is there a good source (in addition to this forum) to learn some of those things. Read a great discussion here about yard design and a lot of it went over my head. To be a better modeler I want to learn as much as I can about full scale railroading and how it all works. Any ideas welcome, thanks

Also, look for John Armstong's book:

"The Railroad: What it is, What it does"

I don't know if it is still available as I got mine at Half Price Books for $3.50.

I'm almost possitive if you don't get no leads on books and all for the information you seek, ask here as a topic an I'm possitive one of Trainboards own members or staff can be of help and give you either a place an with some of the more knowledgable ones the answer your looking for..... Feel free to ask! Remember a dumb question.. is one not asked! We all had to start someplace!
