Next month I am going to be helping my train club with a small layout at a local train show. I want to test the waters and attempt to sell some of train photos... WHat do I need to do to do that? Copyright? How? anyother things I need to do? thanks, Mike

I guess the biggest thing in my mind is to make sure you are the owner or have rights to sell any photo you are attempting to sell.
I'm not sure what you're worried about. You own the copyright on any photo you sell--if you took it. I don't know about selling someone else's photos. I sell photos, usually 11 x 17 or 13 x 19, or thereabouts. I sell only to a few select customers who know my work. I charge between $200 and $1000 per print. I sell a few images for a 9% royalty. This is not my primary line of business, which is writing. I rarely "sign" photos--there's no need. I've found that you have to be really dedicated to professional photography make money at it. It's a sideline for me, so it pays for itself, and allows me to offer a "one-stop-shopping" approach to clients.
Pretty much so. The only exception I've heard of is that of deliberately copying someone else's shot. Seems a recording company got nailed a few years back by sending a photographer out to copy an Ansel Adams photo rather than pay the license fee. I wouldn't worry too much about that one unless you set out to deliberately duplicate a shot.
