I Model them because I see them in the photo's, but what is the Dog House on a tender really used for?
Hi!Bob. The doghouse was basically a place for the head end brakeman to ride out of the weather, had a bench long enough for two or three crewman to sit or even possibly sleep though I;ve never heard of anyone doing so and were usually steam heated and keep flags or other supplies! Rich
Thanks for the info. Those doghouses in N Scale are so small I did not think I could get an N Sclae person inside! It's amazing that they could fit so much stuff inside.
HI. Again Bob! Most doghouses were of various sizes and configurartions depending of course on the needs of the railroad. They were used mostly on road trains,not much in yard service. Richard
