LOL, the F units a different story. We finally recently called a guy to come out and center the two locomotives prime movers ( F-unit, and Amtrak 231) and both are awaiting time to complete hook ups. The GNs wiring and hoses are almost done, then after that we can move on to pressure testing older hoses and checking oil, etc. The 231 is in the same bout, but it needs traction motor cables, Amtrak cut the ones that were on it now when it was in the dead line. So thats going to set us back.
As some of you may have seen at the NRHS night Photo shoot, we turned on the F-Units lights, number boards and mars for the firs time since it through a piston rod. [IMG]

Any more questions while im at it? [IMG]

Well, the PA has finally seen some much needed attention by her owner. As I was working on the grab irons for the F40, I noticed doyal finally being able to do some work on her old rusted prime mover. From the looks of things, its not in as bad of shape as we all thought it was. Right now, the items that are getting the most attention are the valves as they are some what rusty. But its looking like a possible, fat chance of a 2008 fire up date.... this is if we continue to find time to work on her.

Daylight-Boy, let me help you here. These are old, taken in July this year, but show what is happening to NKP PA 190. The first one shows "Durango" painting the primer coat on the trucks. The next day he painted them blue, same color as the engine. Second shot shows "the other side" of the locomotive, still accessible to work on the prime mover and all the other stuff them diesels have. :D

Well, the other three in the photo are called
Frasier in the pokey hat, Federal Phil in uuuhhhhh, the short one and Todd in the back.
Im off to the left a little ways out of the camera veiw
And Durango's name is Rich just so you all know. Nick named cuz he lives in Colorado. Wanna guess ware? ;)

Well, todays report goes like this.
We started work on the PA, cleaning her prime mover, and doing some grinding when Doyal decided since its starting to rain, that we need to take a break and put the tarp on the F-7 since the manifolds are still wide open and the hatch hasnt been re revitted. Doyal and Tater Head crawl up to spread the tarp while Federal Phil and I tied the ropes down to the grills. Doyal seemed to have a better way, so he told me to take his place. Im in my bib overalls and steel toe boots climbing onto a not so skidd free surface in the freezing wind and rain. I get up and I did it. I slipped, but cuaght myself. THAT is the closest I ever want to be to a near death experience. But I finish the job, and we get her covered. took 20 mins.
Any way, today was fun as there was alot of sick humer going on between Doyal and my buddy.

Ile go into it if asked, but other wise.....
