It's their new $29.95 Heritage paint scheme. Called "Sunbleach." They get this great appearance, through using colors supplied by the El Cheapo Paint Company of Walla Walla, Washington........... Boxcab E50
there for a second I thought it was a UP engine there, lol. I've seen a couple CSX GP38-2's that were pretty faded.
That what I thought too at first glance... I thought I had really hit paydirt with a BNSF and UP loco! Harold
Hi Michael, welcome to Trainboard That picture shows that us modelers need not worry too much about the exact shade of paint we use
Yes, there is hope for those that are colorblind.... Seems to always be a prototype for a model, if you look hard enough! Harold
Hi Michael T and welcome to TrainBoard! Isn't Peublo the home of that big, fat gov't catalog? Also, where is the AAR test track and have you ever seen it??? Harold
Orange isn't the best colour for durability - ask Indiana Harbor Belt. No, wait - they're painting everything orange again. Hmmmmm Jon
I read somewhere that there was a batch of Dash 9 locos that got the bad paint. BNSF has repainted some, I believe, but not all. I saw this last weekend at Barstow...
Hi Gang, I wonder if they are getting ready to repaint the loco back to Warbonnett colors and put Big New Santa Fe down the sides? Shannon WP LIVES (no matter what the UP says)
You'd be laughed right out of class, unless you carried photographic evidence at all times. I've also seen pics of some very wonky reporting marks, that if you modelled them, they would look really amateurish. Jon
"It'd look much nicer in green and black" I'll second that!! "I've also seen pics of some very wonky reporting marks, that if you modelled them, they would look really amateurish." One of my favorites along this line is a prototype picture Model Railroader showed one time of Pennsy boxcar 123456. Straight off the decal sheet, I'd say. . .
