Hi all, long time no see. I have been busy starting up JTW Rails & Crafts so my time here in the last year has been sporadic at best.
Anyway, can I have a show of hands on who's going to Galesburg IL this June for RR days? My wife and I will be there on Thursday the 23rd for some railfaning. I'll be bringing the new railfan Jeep this year, hope to see some of you there!

    Cheers,
    Jim

i hope to be there with my t-trak stuff, if not I'll run with the n-trak guys. setup friday afternoon, run saturday and sunday.

Jim, I'd love to bring my 2004 Jeep Rubicon in CB&Q silver, but the mileage is really horrible, and g'burg is like 70 miles each way :) guess I'll drive the dweebmobile taurus LOL

are you planning any paint clinics??

Sorry for the confusion, this is my REAL screen name that I have had here since 2000.

Ed, love to see your Rubi but I understand. Galesburg is one of those places where Tina and I love to bring our Wrangler Railfan GP :D Tina has 4 T-trak models built and tracked but no landscapping yet, don't know if she will run or donate one or two for my displays in the liabrary.

I talked with Harry Grossman and he is working on a time for me to do one clinic per day, either on airbrushing acrylics (Polly Scale) or colour theory in model rail roading. Can't wait!

    Cheers
    Jim

Ok all, only five more days till Galesburg RR days! So to get all you BNSF guys ready, here are some pics of engines you'll be seeing. These two engines are both Kato SD40-2's. The BN one is Tina's, and I did a patch job on it when she was out shopping [IMG] The 2nd is BNSF6915 and was one of the first SD40-2's to get the H1 Paint. [IMG] This engine is my MRL SD40-2XR and has a lot of details, I'll get into that in another post. All of these are N scale. [IMG] This should get you BNSF guys ready! Charge up the camera's and get your film! :D

    Jim,

how much do you charge for weathering?? the sd40-2 is really good. Oh yeah, did the wife beat you with a brick stick after defacing her unit ?? :)

Sorry about fanning, i have a shift friday morning and setup takes many hours afterwards. I may just bring the Oakland Raiders silver Rubi one day anyway :)

    Nice weathering Jim.

I too plan someday to weather and patch a BN SD40-2 like that which I recently acquired for my fleet.

Sound like Galesburg Railroad days is a fun event. I checked out the website, and maybe I'll have to head over there next year as its about 4 hours away from me.

Ed, no Tina let me go with only a few cuts ;) Would love to see the Rubi sometime.

Chris: St. Louis is not to far a drive for you, even if you come for just one day, I think you will like it. The model train show, the Full size BNSF yard, the food. The show is a lot of fun if you like the BNSF as much as my wife and I do. Heck our first year there was our honeymoon [IMG]

Well the railfan Jeep is in the garage and my purchases are laying out on the workshop floor. Galesburg 2005 is over. I bought a lot of stuff and saw a lot of trains, although no new nightmare ES44 black and orange units. Who eles came? I saw Ed and his big T_Trak layout(Nice choice on the motive power :D ) It was also nice to see a display at the depot again, thank you GE! [IMG] Overall a good show, I heard vendors were happy for the most part.

Missed Galesburg due to other plans. But saw a few GEVO's in St.Louis.But I am at a place where the BNSF runs daily about 40 trains and have seen many coal trains. They run with 2 lead units and 3 pushers.Seems like the 70Macs and AC4400's are doing well here.I got some pics to post when I get home from vacation.
