Anybody notice the latest iteration of the evolving new BNSF logo? Gone are all gold and green - now it's just pumpkin and black. Shall we call it the black pumpkin logo?
Ugh. Obviously a company having a large identity crisis. As usual, with today's logos, it tells the viewer nothing about the operation. Boxcab E50
We all know railroad managements have lost any imagination they ever had. Why not 'RAILWEST', 'RAILSWEST', or, if you're not particular about stealing a name "WESTRAIL" (Western Australian Govt. Railways which I believe is now obsolete). Slogan "Everywhere West" borrowed from the CB&Q and now completely accurate ! Emblem: Mountain peaks a la Vermont Railway, possibly with a track through them and/or a locomotive foreground. I'd like to have the money they spent on this non-logo - you or I could do better than that ! James E. Bradley Hawk Mountain Chapter,N.R.H.S.
Hey, if they checked with us beforehand, none of this would have happened! Instead, everyone here would have come up with a different idea, and then we'd have had a good old argument among us, because everyone would have thought HIS idea was the best. Then we'd have appointed a committee to pull together everyone's ideas... (don't ask me how I know this!!! ) ...and then we'd have come up with the one on the left!
But instead they probably spend millions to figure this out. They could have just asked us for free.I don't understand the logic of people these days .I was just at Lindenwood yard and the new logo was plastered everywhere,I also got to see a few brand new GEVO units.
Personaly I hate it, but the Mrs. likes it, hence my avitar I liked the evolution of the Santa Fe cross they used early on and the idea of keeping engines in red and silver and green and cream. Is it true the new loco's will be black and orange instead of green and orange? Should have painted the loco's in a CB&Q scheme with Santa Fe red and BN cream and used the slogan "Everywhere West."
