August, 2005 in Kirby, Texas, this big CN power. This is on the east-west Sunset Route heading for Houston. Unusual to see it there, I think.
Yes, on UP rails. I have seen BN or BNSF pull coal trains to Houston through San Antonio, but that was a long time ago. I guess the unit would go anywhere if it is pool power.
I caught this guy on "the Loop" in I think April of 2004. Just a wee bit south and west of it's normal haunts I think.
It might be far from its latest home but since it is an ex- Mopac /UP unit you might say its closer to its original home. Ex Mopac 797, 3097, UP 4097 rebuilt by CN in 1994!
Yesterday I saw two CN locos heading a mixed train south on the UP line at Magnolia, Tx. I was way back in the line of cars waiting at the crossing and they were moving along pretty fast. The front unit had a safety cab and flared radiators, but the second unit caught my eye as it quickly passed. It looked like an F40 and had some sheet metal damage on the side near the roof...appeared as if some sort of accident damage.
Before Katrina, I saw quite a few CN locos on CSX on their way in and out of New Orleans. CN (ex-IC) terminates at the Harahan, LA yard in the New Orleans area at the east end of the Huey P. Long bridge. I assume that CN is delivering and receiving trains to/from UP, BNSF, and CSX, and so all the lines exchange run-through power.
I keep forgetting that IC is now under CN control. So that would likely explain how these units get so deep into the USA. Boxcab E50
There is a CN unit or two that I see weekly on Northbound (Eastbound) grain through NE New Mexico on the Raton Sub. I try to take a pic next time I see one.
CN power does also go south on some BNSF trains. There was a BNSF train leaving Thornton last Friday with all CN power.
I have a pic of CN Unit #5762 that I pictured in Raton, NM on an empty grain train. I don't know how to transfer the pics from MY PICTURES to this site. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

Okay, I got a hold or Paul and I got my account squared away; however, I'm now having problems transferring my pics from, MY PICTURES" on my computer to RailImages.com. Any suggestions? Thanks
Sam, whats the actual problem? all you need to do is select add photos then a popup should appear and you select the image to upload? Are you able to login correctly?
Paul, I went to the ADD PHOTOS. The pop-up came out and I used the Browse button to find my pics. When I finished finding all the pics I wanted I pressed the Upload Now button. NOTHING HAPPENED! What am I doing wrong?
