Hi guys. I asked Charlies permission before posting this....

I've just created a new forum that focuses on layout design, design software, and construction. Yeah, I know there are yahoo groups etc that do this sort of thing, but from what I've seen they tend to all swell on the internals of the software and modifying it, rather than what you can get OUT of it. Our goal is to provide a more user oriented place that shows lots of layout plans, tutorials, tips and tricks, construction of said layouts etc. We even have text and voice chat sessions.... Tutorials will be run at regular intervals in voice chat too!

At the moment the site is brand new, so we're seeking content. Its coming along nicely though and should turn out to be a valuable resource.

We have a 'free posting' philosophy. IF you othink another sites hot, post away. If you think some store offers great prices, go for it. We are there to provide information to members, not monopolise their online time.

Come check us out at www.layoutparty.disisus.com and register if you like what you see!

wow..thats pretty wild... nothing appeared in my post.

OUR membership is growing pretty constantly now, with quite a few guys from here on trainboard paying us regular visits. Thanks guys!

We've added voice chat to our live chat facility (so you can actually TALK to people, not type, but only for logged in users..security and all that...). The objective with that is to do online tutorials by voice rather than having folks have to read / print it. We can also record those tutorial sessions and will make those available for registered members to download and playback.

Several written tutorials have been posted on xtrkcad, and we expect the Atlas RTS one to be posted publicly any day now (writer had a hip replacement which is delaying things a bit...how rude of him!)
