]image If i've done this correctly, my layout pic will display I am wondering what you all think of this choice. It will be an industrial layout and then on the adjoining part of the layout[a10x4ft.] space will be a more rural and mountainous countryside.an overall L shape. I am a lottle hessitant. I went to the local MRR club and they said they are going to run only dcc. wasn,t sure if i wanted to get into that quite yet. I also notice that there is a lot more activity on the forum along with a multitude of Nscale, Beautifol layouts and of course what seems like more space for scenery, tunnels and bridges.I am having an inner tug of war as to which way to go. Comments and sugestions are welcome as always.
Well thanks Eric, yes like that and i was trying to put on the line drawing also. Don't know what i am doing wrong, but i will get it sooner or later. Ok all , comments please, at your leisure of course. if you want you can put the drawing uo also, Thanks Eric!
I believe your image link has to start with "", no quotation marks. Here's an example: "" links to the following photo. . . but I had to leave out the quotation marks (or my photo would have displayed twice.) [ February 11, 2006, 09:08 PM: Message edited by: CN4008 ]
colin: is that a campell grain elevator wood kit? joseph: where did you get the photocopied turnouts? it would be really usefull if i could get my hands on those images because buying all my turnouts at the same time would leave a big blank in my bank account.
tap: That's a scratchbuilt grain elevator. It's a little bigger than the Campbell kit. I have a Campbell elevator elsewhere on the layout.
Tap, I bought a left and right and then i photocopied and made a dozen of each. It worked great so far..Joe
Good! I think i will go and buy a few more items[one of each] of some other pieces i need and do it again. It just makes sense to trial and error first
Thanks to the friendly help and expertise of Watash, I can now get back on TRACK! I show this layout sketch to have you all add comments and or suggestions. It is drawn on paper in place on the paper covered table and I think it will be ok. I am just thinking of keeping it an industrial site and then expand into a more rural and scenic country on the other 10x4 section you see in my Railimages Enough said, and thanks in advance for your ideas and comments.
I add this to show where I'm at . the 4x10 is where the train sits now and the 4x8 in the forground is where i will do the industrial above layout.
This is some of the work, getting a feel for the scale. Next will be to remove all and paint the ply an earthtone color,(i guess)
Joseph: If the entire continuous L-shaped tabletop space is available for your layout, why not use one large L-shaped folded loop as your main line? The longer run would look better for long trains like that boxcar set you got in the photo. Just a thought.
I was trying out the idea of going from industrial to more scenic layout, i think i can do the first part and expand later. The train is The Confederation Flyer that i gave my son 30yrs plus ago, it was forgotten and unused until this winter when i got hooked. Pics on railimage. The Flyer is a collectable and will most likely saved as such . The hobby shop says it is worth a lot, but i will keep it as a keepsake
