All - Given the interest in creating a model of the GE U25C and early U28C models - really the first predecessors of today's big GEs, a few of us have decided to start a Yahoo group dedicated to a U25C RPM project. Brian Banna (http://www.6axlepwr.com), Brian Everett, and myself have compiled a lot of information for producing the parts necessary to bring the 'Rossi shell up to standard and re-powering it with a modern drive and DCC capability.

If any of you are interested, we'd like you all to sign up at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/u25cproject/ and keep track of what we are doing. We intend to use this group as a repository for everything about this project instead of having it scattered around the other groups on the Internet. With the team assembled it can only result in an exceptional result.

We look forward to seeing any of you join the project and helping to finally produce a fine RPM U25C model.

All - Some interesting recent developments at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/u25cproject/. Kaslo Shops has taken the Jeff Briggs project over and is working with us - in the running for the re-power kit and is planning a complete HO model. Also, since the Atlas release of the Trainmaster another repower option (albeit right now a rather expensive one) has emerged. The TM has the same truck and wheel spacing as the U25C / U28C and could be used by replacing the truck sideframes with the old Rivarossi ones. Finally, looks like this week will be the week we approach NWSL for another repower kit option. Will post results of that conversation soon.

Please join us if you are interested. We've had to lock the group down somewhat because of SPAM but if you want to join just indicate in the space that you saw this post on Trainboard and want to follow what we are doing.

Look forward to seeing you in the Group!
